Front pipe sellers

Has anyone in Aus bought a catted front pipe from SME ?

If so did you buy online or pick up, as I'm having issues with them.

Also looking at the ARK Design one if anyone has feedback on that one..

I had an SME catted one for about a day, then put stock one back in, found it too loud and raspy combined with catless header and hks legamax catback (its a very quiet catback like Q300 invidia), but i like quiet. Sold it to another guy who tried and then put stock front pipe back.

unless you like loud and raspy most high flow cat front pipes combined with catless header and aftermarket catback will result in same problem.

With stock catback it will be fine.

or maybe one of the catted and resonated front pipes will work and be quieter.

i think magnaflow, jdl and hks make them but they cost a $h1t tonne of money

it just could not justify the noise for the couple of hp gain

maybe get local exhaust shop to add a resonator ?

I have a overpipe, complete decat front pipe and a muffler delete with the stock header and mid pipe and it is really loud but I love it loud! Although if I had to put a catless header on it would be so loud and raspy that it would be a pain to drive

I have stock headers with overpipe and Blitz catless frontpipe 2.75" but want 2.5" with cat, It sounds great with my axleback, nice and raspy but I really want a catted one..

Not chasing performance as I think the car is great straight out of the box, well to me it is I purchased it but haven't seen it yet, no contact at all with SME

That's also why I asked if anyone had the Ark one

I had the SME overpipe and front pipe before and the quality was horrible. The flanges on both ends were warped badly. I thought it was just the front pipe that was bad, but the overpipe was equally bad. After that I went with Motiv and the difference in quality was day and night. The Motiv parts looked so good it should really be wall art!

i just purchased the SME OP and was surprised at how good the quality was. Motiv stuff is top notch but exchange rate and postage make it silly expensive.

Perhaps SME have lifted their game re QC.

If buying on line from SME I hear their service is very slack and very slow. Purchased mine from CMA. Ordered at 1pm and had it next day in Melb at 11am. Great service. And had stock.
