Oft benefits
Sorry, if this question has been asked before, but I've searched the forums and no one actually gives a good answer to this question.
I drive an auto frs that is stock except for wheels/tires. I'm considering buying an oft but to spend 500 I actually need to justify it with actual benefits. What does oft actually improve (besides saying it "feels" better which could just be placebo)? Is it worth 500 for a bone stock frs? |

You will get 10 or so WHP for a stage 1 tune, and 20 or so WHP on a stage 2 tune if you have supporting mods. That is why one would want to tune their car. |

And running a Stage 2 E85 tune can net you even more gains with supporting mods.

On stage one you'll have better idle, better throttle response, and overall a smoother motor. E85 on a stock motor is very nice and is addicting because of the power increase. IMO completely worth it if you plan to purchase a header in the future or if you want top notch results. It will run better than your stock tune now.

It's also a fairly effective datalogger.

Read the oft Tips link below
another good thig about oft is if you decide you dont like it or sell car it can be unmartied and sold, they sell pretty quick and you will probably only loose about 100 if that. but it has many other functions other that tuning, it reads clears engine codes ,big guage display data logger driving performance monitor and pedal dance mode feature |

OFT is worth it, tons and tons of us run it on here. It will grow with you as you pickup more mods.

If I happen to run EcuTek in the future, do you think it's worth it to keep the OFT for it's monitoring/datalogging capabilities?

For monitoring, I would only be interested in what you mentioned. If only the OFT would support more FI applications... |

I just sold my OFT last week but now I have no way to datalog easily. I actually tried to buy it back but I think the new owner is enjoying it haha. Trying to see if I can datalog to datazap with Torque and a few other Android apps in the mean time while I'm looking for another OFT. |

Sounds good guys. One more question. With 500 would you guys rather get an oft or get TRd springs installed at the dealership?

OFT for sure, you won't regret it. Springs are easy to install with basic tools. $500 is steep. For a few hundred more you are in coilover range (used obviously) but still.
