How long are you planning on keeping your BRZ?

And how often do you keep your cars in general and for what rationale?

The BRZ is my third car in 4 years, having gotten out of the prior two not by choice (first was totaled, not at fault, second had mechanical issues).

Nah, let's just stay here with this one.

I suspect I'll keep mine for a long time, barring any unforeseen circumstances. I bought my prior vehicle (Jeep Cherokee) brand new in June 2000 and still have it. I tend to look for a long time until I find something that fits my personality, then buy for the long haul and hang onto it. The Jeep's engine finally gave up the ghost in 2014, so it now has a stroker and is getting outfitted for offroad use. When the motor finally wears out in the BRZ, it'll probably get a rebuild for track/street.

I'm planning 6-10 years, depending on how this all turns out.

If for example they retire the cars soon, I may stop driving it sooner and restore it to stock with a plan to keep it for a long time.

Otherwise, at the 6 year mark I may want something more 'track ready' instead of autox focused. Probably an Sti or something.

Okay my turn. I am planning on keeping my FRS forever. One day it will be a strict track car. Its only my second car. First car was a 1986 300zx and I sold that to my dad cuz it was costing to much to maintain for me when I was 17-18. Then I ended up with the FRS at 19, funny how that goes.

Hey another XJ owner! I've got a 97 Cherokee, with like 167,xxx on the clock, slapped on a 4.5' suspension lift and some meaty 33' tires. It's a blast in the snow and I plan to keep it forever.

As for my BRZ, I'll probably keep it until my loan is up, then possibly put it back to stock, sell the mods and the car, and then buy a new WRX/STi.

I plan to drive mine into the ground assuming I don't wreck it first. I'm 33 now and I'll be surprised if I don't still have it when I turn 50.

I'm not saying you'll still recognize it by then but it will still be the same car.

I'm keeping an eye out for the new s2k. I haven't heard anything solid, mostly rumors and speculations. If it turns out to be a real thing, I'd seriously consider trading my SWP BRZ in for a Championship White s2k.

Mine's a 2000 with similar mileage, bone stock up until I had the pleasure of experiencing the 0331 head crack. Now it has a Golen 4.6L stroker with Brown Dog motor mounts and engine brackets, a Spectre cowl intake, Gale Banks header coated by Swain, Magnaflow cat and a Gibson cat-back. I also did an H4 e-code headlight conversion with an ARB 3-relay harness. However, out in the garage waiting to go on it I have a front JCR bumper with the stinger, a rear JCR bumper with the swing out tire carrier, a Warn 9.5ti winch, a set of 5-90's battery mains, a Premier Power Welder with 190 amp alternator for onboard welding capability, an ARB compressor, a high pinion D30 out of a 4 cylinder XJ (for the 4.10 gears and to replace my LP D30), a Ford 8.8 LSD with 4.10s, a set of aluminum rims with Kumho offroad tires (31" for now, because they came with the rims, going up to 33" when I wear them out), and an AGR steering pump and steering box (would have gone with PSC, but these were a NOS deal still in the boxes that I couldn't pass up). Still to be ordered: Frame stiffeners, lift, steering and a Tom Woods SYE and drive shaft. I'm going with a 4.5" long arm lift, but I haven't decided between Rubicon Express and Clayton and haven't even started on figuring out the steering.

To keep this on topic: I think the XJ is a perfect companion to the BRZ. Having it will actually let me keep the BRZ running longer, since I can use the XJ for situations where I'd rather leave the BRZ in the garage.
