Pictures to come tomorrow but a few weeks ago someone scraped my side mirror in a parking lot.

Theres a few spots that look like they'll require touchup paint, does anyone have any recommendations on how to touchup / what product to use to touchup the black plastic part on the side mirror?

Id buy new mirror or polish and wax marks that were left. Touch up is tricky. More to fill in holes unless you respray whole thing. Youll still notice it.

Hmmm on the asphalt painted portion there's a white circle almost where it looks like paint is gone so not sure wax and polish will help there :' (...

Was hoping not to replace (at least yet)... But we'll see...

Any of the touch up paints will work. There are some great YouTube videos on how to do it right.
Will you notice after the job? Yes.
Will anybody else that you don't point it out to notice? Probably not.

Spray paint kit. The name (scratchwizard) sounds like a gimic, but it worked perfect for me. I did my entire bottom half of bumper and you'd be hard pressed to find a difference after following directions correctly. This will be a good amount of work (not 20 minute job... for a mirror probably 2 or more hours) but if you put in the time and care you'll see great results. You want the 'scratch repair kit' with the clear, paint, sandpaper, primer, etc.

The only thing I don't like about the kit is the quality of clearcoat.... For your job it will probably be fine, but being that I was doing half of a bumper, I opted to toss out their included clearcoat and bought a can of spraymax 2k (buy a mask too... this stuff can kill you if you aren't in a ventilated area). Turned out damn good. See below.

Total time: 12-15 hours.

I marked up this image to illustrate the damaged spots (far left circle is a chip which I'll live with for now).

Circle on right and vertical + horizontal lines are what I wanted to touch up.

Yep, I'd recommend touch up paint on the chip on the color part and a sharpie on the black part.

Be sure to clean the areas with alcohol first to get rid of all the old wax.

That's not too bad, could be worse!

This might be difficult as it's perpendicular to the ground (thus, gravity will play a part in this) but this is what I've been doing with my rock chips.

Fill in the white part with touch up paint. Since this looks to be a larger job than a rock chip, feel free to use the supplied brush. Starting from the top, allow the paint to "drip" onto the area. Apply in layers, then use a hair dryer for faster drying. Whatever setting you use is up to you; I usually go with lowest when working on body panel. Move the hair dryer around in a circular motion as to not heat up the paint around it.

Keep repeating as needed. As mentioned before, people won't notice unless they are actively looking or you point it out to them! They will be looking at the rest of your car.

I am no paint repair expert, however.. Follow above tips at your own risk. :P

Said fuck it and just touched it up today... Didn't follow the various tutorials out there to a t... But am happy with the result!

Might need another coat to the white spot on the actual paint but overall there are some angles from about 3-4 get out where you can't even tell there's a scratch :- D

... I'm still working a little bit on the black plastic but I touched up with sharpie and then went over the spot thoroughly with meguires back to black the sharpie kind of got into the granular area the product was struggling to...

Pictures to come eventually (only mishap I had was spilling the bottle of paint and then diving to stand it up right before the spill got to my phone -_-)
