JDL UEL to Stock Overpipe

Hello,

I see a lot of posts about people getting new overpipes when they got a new header. What I wanted to know is has anyone had any trouble mounting the header to just the stock overpipe. Is it necessary to buy a new overpipe? Not sure if the money is worth the gains but if it fixes leaking issues than it may be worth it.

Thank guys!

You do not need to swap out the OP with that header, however a lot of people do since they are already down there. Shouldn't have any trouble mating to stock OP. Make sure everything is lined up and bolted down. Helps to retorque the bolts after a few heat cycles

ahh, I see. Do you think it'd be wise to just go ahead and grab one then? If so, whats a good company to purchase from? I'd prefer to keep the noise levels down.

No issues with leaking (assuming you're not using an OEM gasket), but you're certainly not going to get optimum performance and at least for me it was really "wooshy" sounding.

The flanges are pretty different in size:
