25mm spacers at the back?

Ok so never thought about it but just ran into a bloke that was running wheel spacers only on the rear wheels. Is there any point to it? Would it do damage? I'm confused as why he was, he said it was for the look but would it affect steering? I have a set of 25mm spacers at home and was waiting to get a set of 20mm for front but if it won't do damage of age t car much I'd prob put on while I wait till I order the other spaces. Thoughts? Thanks

Other than make the wheels flush, it won't really do much. It will make the track of the wheels wider, which may be beneficial.

Spacers do put a MARGINAL strain on the hub (since the weight is further out than it was designed for), but its nothing the car can't handle. It is not unsafe. See this awesome vid from Engineering Explained:

Interestingly enough, he looked at the effects of spacers SPECIFICALLY on a BRZ. So the same should apply to any of the twins:
