Replica body kits

I just have a basic question for anyone with replica body kits , especially wide body kits, do you guys have fitment problems with installation or are the defects defects adjustable?

A replica body kit is different than a replica spoiler or anything^

Most on here (threads if searched) will tell you that the fitment is garbage on the replicas. Some people, however, will say that the fitment on the genuine body kits themselves are pretty bad. Had the RocketBunny V1 flares and the fitment was great. Not perfect, but that's because I didn't actually install it. I just did mock-fitments and it seemed to line up all perfectly and the only time it didn't was because I needed pressure against it/as if it was installed using the screws so I'm sure it would've fitted fine.

You can check out Angela.iKon's rocket bunny rep kit as they're willing to work with whoever tries it out..

I've researched but most people say its garbage but i wonder if they ever did proper installation. because i wouldn't want to spend money on the genuine kit if a replica kit will fit well if properly installed. if it doesn't then i would rather just buy the actual greedy kit

I have a TRD replica. I'll say this: not all replicas are equal. I bought parts from different manufactures and some of them SUCKED. I sent a few eBay pieces back. I eventually found parts that worked very well.

If you are going to buy an unpainted kit you need to realize it is a TON of work. There is a lot of fitting, filling and sanding. You'll take each piece on and off dozens of times. If you want it done right expect to spend a lot of time fitting it. This is true no matter who makes the kit.

Maybe my standards are too high, but that was my experience. I think my kit fits as well if not better than the factory TRD kits I have seen but I put a ton of work to get it there.

You'll spend the same amount of money getting a knock off to fit as you would just buying the original piece.

Proper installation? I'm sure they didn't as 'proper installation" would mean spending hundreds, if not, thousands to sand, mold, and get it just to fit properly. Who would wanna pay all that for no guaranteed fitment?
Honestly, just buy the actual Greddy Kit. Save yourself the headaches and issues. Greddy's customer service is great too.

I mean, if you're skimping on the body kit, please tell me you'll at least get 3 piece wheels that'll fit properly.

If you can do your own body work, just get a replica and make it fit, it really is not as big of a issue as a lot say it is. If you cannot do body work buy the real thing. Honestly with these kits for the frzbrz i bet you could get good results using youtube videos these days.

Real kits will always fit better as well as they will benefit the company who put the time and research into the kit.

Replicas are just copys and 98% of them will not fit like the real thing. You pay for authenticity.

I would hold off as i'm having Ikons replica kit installed this week and i'll have more info on how the install went when i get back from my business trip (if your still on the fence that is).

I did a dry fit and everything seemed top notch.

Ok just did one fender just now (cut and screwed on). The fitment was great and ABSOLUTELY worth the price tag. Side skirts dry fit very well also.

I'll have more info as the build continues.
