Tyre load and speed rating

hi guys,

Just a question for tyres spec as I'm starting to look for tyres.

since i haven't got my car yet, can some owner tell me what's the tyre load and speed rating on the stock GTS Michelins (ie. 215/45/17)?

thanks in advance.

Better to check the placard. They may be the same, but sometimes not.

would the placard on the GT and GTS be identical? i'd assume so.

maybe i should go down to the dealer to check.

215/45/17 Michelin Primacy HP 87W

That means rated to 270km/h and total weight of ~2200kg

I wouldn't go lower than a 78-80 weight rating which would be a total weight of 1700-1800kg just to be sure you're ok if you add a full tank passengers and a bit of luggage (as unlikely as that is)

The next lower speed ratings are V 240km/h and H 210km/h

Federal 595 RS-R is a really good performance tyre in my opinion, I had them on my previous cars and was very happy with the grip levels on and off track

also they dont cost a bomb
