Well for updates sake, just found out Precision didn't find anything wrong with the turbo so they "freshened up" with some new parts and sent it back. Also found out all the communication was done with JDL and not me as it should have been. I was a bit worried when I didn't hear anything after a month or so

After all I do have a JDL kit.

Here's johnny! GTX2867r.. god this thing is fun and sounds like a turbo diesel truck spooling up, transient boost response is amazing. If you're on the fence, just save up a little more and get it.. it'll be wroth it. Also wrap the DP(even if coated) and blanket the housing, notice a big reduction in heat inside the bay.

Looking from the bottom of the turbo.. wrapped all the stuff in hot stuff.

Yes the water lines are there

The GTX2867r has been my plan for a while now.

Solid choice from all the sources I've asked.

Its pretty darn expensive when you compare it to the 4854 from precision but worth the money... i feel it runs cooler and it whistles

Yeah. I've said before that I'd rather have peace of mind with a water cooled kit even if it's more expensive.

The whistle comes from the anti surge housing. Love that sound so much

I'm glad to know it's better. I never used the PTE version. Nice that the gtx is that much better.

I think I might wrap my dp when my replacement arrives.

Really felt the difference at least in my particular case after wrapping. I used the titanium wrap from dei, good stuff.

Yeah that stuff works well. I had my header, up pipe, and down pipe wrapped on my WRX. This is the first time I've ever used ceramic coating.

I even have enough wrap left over.

Just got my precision turbo back and i have to say their warranty services are excellent. They shipped me a brand new unit minus my original turbine housing which was coated, honestly wouldn't have wanted a raw new one. Took them forever but pretty happy with them. Big thumbs up.

Love pictures.. turbo's are so damn sexy.
