(And just to be clear - you're talking about the built-in Phone app, right? The one that when missing in v2) |

My android stereo is being delivered today. Amazingly fast shipping from Pumpkin on eBay. Like HK to DC in 4 days fast.
Will install, root, and try out the go-pro app this evening. Hopefully everything works, that would be pretty phenomenal. |

Sadly the stereo i received has a resistive screen, not a capacitive screen.
I'm going to give it a try, as the reason i wan't this is to use the lap timer functionality. Maybe it is a blessing in disguise, as capacitive screens don't work with racing gloves. Time will tell, i'm just now plugging it in now and rooting. |

Big thanks to everyone in this thread, nzer, greenpants, 2forme!
The one i have is identical to the T7019A but with a resistive screen. It has the toyota connectors. I'm using a Kensington branded micro bluetooth, as it's what i had around the house. Rooting was fine, i added greenpants file to get the google services stuff. I did have to kill the cache on both the framework and google play services in order for it to recognize my already purchased apps in the store. The following apps work great: 1. GoPro Remote control app (shows a preview on the head unit of the go-pro, allows starting and stopping of recording) 2. Trackmaster Lap Timing 3. Waze Navigation 4. Torque 5. Google Maps 6. Spotify 7. Outlook.com email app 8. Facebook Needs: 1. A better app to control the sound output. All the factory equilizer settings produce a lot of treble, but barely any bass. Needs a lot more bass to richen the sound. I'll use it for a while and see how i like it. I may switch to a capacitive one, but honestly this head unit ticks all my boxes |

For the sound I just went into the stock music app and put the mid range and bass up as I agree the standard "rock", "pop" type settings have too much treble.

Cleaned up the display a bit. Also made the buttons a little more touch friendly.
Overall I'm impressed with everything but the audio quality. But hey... This thing does a lot now. Pics attached. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD

I've upgraded my speakers and very happy with audio even without an amp or sub. Reception was pretty crappy with beatsonic shark fin but the modellista shark fin I have now is as good as the stock antenna. I like your big buttons - how did you do that?

1. Launcher - ADW.Launcher - https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...g.adw.launcher 2. Large button widgets - Car Home Pro - https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...d.car.home.pro I've read that sony has a car-specific launcher i may try, but i think it is limited in capability. I'll be continually tweaking, thats why i love Android.. .so much customization. EDIT - I figured out why the sound was so poor - the front door speakers were powering (amp wasn't kicking on). I traced back the problem and swapped a few pins on the provided adapter. Working well now, much better Last edited by SpeedLab; 08-15-2013 at 02:54 PM. |

@Trap63 posted up some instructions for reversing camera install for the T7019A into a BRZ.
Anyone got details of the wiring/colours in for install into an FRS/86?

So when you switch to rear gear, the reverse circuit on HU will receive voltage. This without wires it into fuse box. Another solution is to find the fuse (for rear or backup light) in fuse box and make a shortcut there.
