Nuclear Fusion
This looks promising. It is still far off from being a reality, but the science is interesting:
https://journals.aps.org/pre/abstrac...evE.101.013204 While fission, along with other green technologies like wind and solar, are going to continue to provide clean energy for the future, the gold standard of clean and unlimited energy would be fusion. This technology seems like a much more viable than what we have been trying: https://newatlas.com/energy/hb11-hyd...-clean-energy/ Quote:

Damn! They beat me to it! I've been working on this for literally weeks out in the garage!

Not far off. There's a few people in the world with shed built reactors in their garages.

So, what fusion is taking place there? It sounded more like fission of boron into hydrogen ions and something else?
Edit:. Found it: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aneutronic_fusion |

I worked for a bit over a year at IITRI (Illinois Institute of Technology Research Institute) in Chicago. My office was located in the basement of the same building as the first industrial nuclear reactor. I used to go over and look at where it was. Yep, a few of the lead bricks that lined the housing of the reactor (that were't too hot) were still scattered around the campus. Now, ya all know why I am the way I am - and here all along you thought it was because of my 20 years researching experimental pesticides - humfrz |

So this kid made a fusion reactor in his garage. It isn't a net positive reactor, but it is a fusion reactor, yet this was his Ted Talk about small fission reactors, for those who were discussing at home reactors:
