Lol nope. I love the M2, quite a bit. But I don't feel as though I NEED to have one. For an all around, every day car, I'd take the M2 over the FRS easily. It's much more comfortable and plenty fun and capable on the street.

For a toy, I'd personally take an FRS over the M2. I love the M2, but I know how expensive it gets tracking those cars compared to something much cheaper like the FRS. Sure, it isn't the fastest thing in the world, but it is fun to just toss around.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I end up getting another FRS/BRZ to be honest

I had a E90 M, completely different beast. Much more refined and more DD friendly, but less engaging then a FR-S for sure.

That's a fair statement i spose. As i don't track my FRS then i think the M2 as an everyday car will be epic!

I know it's a much heavier car and probably less agile than an FRS but there's no way i'd have an FRS over an e90 M3, to me one's an exotic super saloon the other a cheap sports car and i own one so i'm allowed to say that

E90 M3 is a hell of a car. Nothing I'd throw out of bed. I just didn't think it work the money 3 years ago. Now it's ~26k used. Well, I will never own a modern BMW out of warranty.

They are good cars, but if you are not good @ doing work yourself.

"NO"

My friend has a E46 M3 that he does the valve adjustment himself every 20-25k. The job is 1200 by itself with no parts includes if it's done @ dealer........Not to mention lots other stuff. Ya... you better be good @ wrenching if you gonna daily your M.

I've never driven a current gen M car, but I've decided on a M2 already. Hopefully get one in 2-2.5 years if I plan my budget right.

The only 2 M cars I've driven (and not really that much in depth) was a E46 M3 with SMG and a E92 M3. Definitely fun.

Essentially, the toyobaru will be daily duty and I didn't want a 1st year M2 anyway. Time to save.

I'm in the same boat bro! i will hopefully get my M2 end of 17. Need to start saving to. Think Bmw here want £1k deposit atm but order books are probably full anyway. The unveil here is 16th April, when's it out in States?

To the post above, i really hope i don't have to do too much work on my brand new M2 and think as the engine is just a modified M235i engine and not a race bred engine like the S65 then it should be pretty reliable fingers crossed. Of course i will have a 3 yr warranty too to fall back on..

Tyler if you're reading this, did you feel much body roll on the M2? I actually feel that stock my 86 has too much and i personally don't enjoy it so an Miata ND is def out the question for me

Not sure, I think people have rumored that it'll hit showroom floors by the summer or early fall.

Comparison of the M2 and M4 around Hockenheim Ring

Only 2/10ths of a second off the M4.

The M2 could have been so much better if it were NA, couple hundred pounds lighter, and with an LSD. Like the E46 M3 .
