Hi guys

Question about timing:

Currently you are timing the first three sessions. With the first session being a track cleanup - specially for us in the red group, we effectively get 2 timed sessions.

Would it make sense to time sessions 2-3-4 instead?

Drivers in the blue run group (usually anyone new to a particular track) get only two timed sessions too, since the first one is typically a lead-follow run.

I say we take it up to a vote. Anyone who's been to at least 1 event gets a vote. @mav1178 @ImperiousRex what say you?

The main reason we did 1-3 was so that people can leave early if they choose to do so.

Well we're ending up staying til the 4th sessions anyways because it takes a bit of time for the timing guys to get our laps compiled and sorted but if we make this change we'll probably end up staying into the 5th sessions. Based on my experiences from last year, almost everyone was packing up or leaving by that time frame (especially when we're at either BW or CVR). This year with the 3 session rule, we have almost everyone staying for the awards and while we're gathered up having a little time to unwind and asking for/giving pointers and just in general having time for comraderie. IMO, this is more beneficial for the cup than having a few people get those last fast laps in at the end. But I'm down for whatever everyone votes for.

So for the people that vote for a 4th session, I fully expect to see you guys stay until the award ceremonies at the end. If we make this change and have 3 people sticking around for the awards while everyone else leaves then it's not a favorable change just to accomodate a few people.

I vote 2 and 3 only, throw out first session for time purposes.

I would vote 1-3. First session is usually the coolest and has the most open run space. No reason why it couldn't produce a FTD.

But I would take 2-3 over 2-4.

Do we have any updates on this?

Really, what would be the downside of even timing 1-4??

If someone wants to leave early - let them. It wont affect the people who stay.
