No build date on passenger side sticker, how to determine build date?

Gentlemen,

I'm trying to determine the build date on my 2013 Scion FRS, I have the vin, and I looked at the passenger side sticker (the black one), it does not say the build date like some of the other examples i've seen.

Can anyone help me figuring this out?

Thanks all.

Curious, I must ask 'are you sure?' see below it's in the top right of the black sticker "MFD IN 11/12"

I just realized that its the black sticker on the DRIVER's side, not the passenger side. It had the build date. 12/12 is the build date of mine, thanks.

On a side note i read that the engines have a chance of exploding if driven hard if the build date was before 3/13 or something like that?? Something with the tune? Anyone aware of the symptoms? How do i bring it to get it fixed?

You probably read it from me, it's the direct injector seal issue, rather well documented, here's the post that sparked your curiosity, all the info is in the links and every aftermarket tuner has incorporated the fix. To get the dealership to fix it you have to show them that the idle is not steady per the TSB.

Thanks Scyther, I actually got the TSB for the RPM drop as shown in this thread: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52979

does this mean i'm set? I plan to track my car in the coming months and I'm not trying to have the engine explode on me...

thanks!

Not much more to do after that, some guys throw some 100 octane fuel in to prevent knock but that isn't a bulletproof solution. You're good to go! Best of luck and have fun.
