I don't notice any difference between D, M, sport, etc and any combination of the above.

I feel that there is some correlation between throttle position, transmission temperature, and rpm that gives you the jerk.

AT Transmission Hard Shifting

For reference, on my car, when the shifts are felt, the car does not jerk violently, the shock is felt through the steering.

Certainly something is not right with your unit. Best for the dealer to address.

UPDATE: After a week of testing all this further, this is what I have found:

My car is hard shifting/lurching in both sport mode and manual mode. It does not make a difference between the two.

It does not matter what gear i'm in, it always lurches the same.

Turning the car off and on still instantly gets rid of the issue.

The car most consistently hard shifts when I have been driving at high speeds (60+mph), and then stop, put it into sport mode or manual mode, and continue driving. I still had one instance where it hard shifted upon startup though.

As a couple people have mentioned, and as you can kind of see in the video, the whole car definitely lurches when it is hard shifting. This is not a slight bump that can only be felt through the steering column, and was definitely not purposely programmed.

Going to be calling the dealer on Monday and seeing what their recommended next steps are.

Good luck and hope this issue gets fixed. I've tried do replicate this but it's been silky smooth on my car.

I have this same issue, and when the hard upshifting occurs, the car won't rev match downshifts. Going into first at about 25 MPH causes the tires to chirp. It seems as though the ECU isn't applying throttle when shifting. Also, when taking off normally in auto, when the car shifts into second at about 2,000 RPM, it feels like there's a drop in torque for a couple seconds, and that's when the problem starts.

Sometimes when I come to a complete stop, the RPMs will dip below 500 then jump up to about 950, although I'm not 100% sure the two are connected.

I definitely get some funky downshifting as well but have never gotten any tire chirp. This is 100% an electronic issue.

I haven't noticed the RPM's jumping like that but I'll keep an eye out for it.

I'll try to get a video of it next time it happens.

In regards to the rpm drop upon stopping, was your AC running? AC compressor is a parasitic draw on engine power. It will cause that rpm dip. It's normal if that's the case.

That could be the case, but the drop is usually not that severe. I'll take note of it next time to be sure.

It has the usual idle dip, but nothing weird as far as I remember.

Yikes, I don't think mine is anywhere near as bad as that. Are going to take yours into the dealer again?

The shifts in sport and manual should be hard but they should rev match perfectly 99.99% of the time, except when you do something very funky to confuse the TCU like force a downshift by hard braking then immediately hit the throttle.

I only ever drive in auto and manual though, never sport. I did let my dad drive it at the track once in sport mode and it worked perfectly. Plenty of hard driving, shifting at 7300-7500 rpm, downshifting right before getting on the throttle, etc.

Any idle issues are an entirely different matter relating to ECU tune. Nothing to do with the AT.
