traction control disabling through software?
OK, we can't search with 3 word letters, quick question, can the Ecutek or the OFT disable the traction control completly?
I am building a race car, i want to get rid of the wiring but i am afraid the computer will cut the throttle with the damn drive by wire. I read i can take out the ABS fuse but i am still unsure if i want to get rid of the abs or not. thanks |

oh and no, pedal dance is not an option because there won't be an e-brake anymore.

If you're building a race car you might want to look at Motec. A standalone might make more sense for that application.

argh yeah but we want to keep the engine as stock as possible for ease of replacement parts and ease of tuning. There aren't that many pros around here to tune race cars. We are also building on a budget, we aren't one of those big CSTCC car
About the switch, yeah we could but honestly, sometimes we just got to rush the car to the grid because we are late or a last minute change or adjustement, and with all the strees the begining of the race brings, i don't want my driver to think he needs to dance in the car in order for it to run right. Especially since he has to do it everytime the car is shut off. That is just not practical, maybe for a lapping car but for a race car, nan i want to find something else. |

Surprised no one has built a pedal dance circuit to wire in so each time the car is started the sequence is auto input...pretty easy too

Otherwise, can someone please confirm that by pulling the ABS fuse, EVERYTHING will be disabled? Is the ECU still going to try to put it in limp mode or something and cut the throttle?

except the coolant temp must be above a certain threshold for the pedal dance to work. won't work unless the engine is fully up to temp. But i guess you could build in a toggle so it's off until you arm it.

Might not even need the toggle. Doesn't the pedal dance have to be done within X seconds after starting the car? If that's the case, once it's warmed up you're going to have to stop the car and restart it anyway. The ECU would just ignore the first pre-warmup sequence since the coolant tempt doesn't meet the criteria. Then after you stop and restart it would acknowledge.

I broke my abs sensor once and it did kill all traction and backing assists, but did not effect performance or put it in limp mode.
