DIY- Toyota Auris/Aqua AC Vent to FRS/BRZ/GT86
This is the AC vent from toyota Aruis or Aqua. Here are the part numbers: ■Auris 55012-52010-C0 01 Price: 4,650 (RHD Passenger Side / LHD Driver Side) If you are in the United States, you can order the parts from: https://www.amayama.com I ordered the Auris vent because it is cheaper. Here is the vent that I got: Compare with FRS/BRZ factory vent: Firstly, remove the ring from factory vent. You will need the FRS/BRZ factory ring + Auris/Aqua vent. Clap A will be the clap to attach the ring to the vent. Clap B is the clap to attach the whole vent to dash. There are some modifications needed on Clap A. You might figure out your own way to attach the factory ring to Auris/Aqua Vent (for example super glue). As long as you keep the Clap B complete, you will not have problem installing the vent back to dash. Remove the ring from Auris vent. Details on the vent. Open Close Half Open Half Close Angle Shot You will need Dremel tools for the modification. Cut the factory ring Cut the Auris/Aqua vent. Attach the factory ring to the vent All Done Installed. Open Close Angle Shot Thank you

Looks great! How's the airflow? Is there any increase/decrease?

Did not feel any difference. Because this vent does not fit the AC pipe on the back as good as the factory vent, technically the airflow should decrease. But the difference is negligible.

Fun mod.
For the USDM versions the Scion/Toyota iM part numbers are: Part: AIR OUTLET VENT, RIGHT
They may be more expensive than the JDM ones though (I didn't shop around, but at one website, they were like $70 each. |
