Bricked ECU With OFT?

I previously had stage 2+ OFT tune on my 2019 brz. Today I tried to flash to the original file. I've switched the tune using the OFT a decent number of times and all things seemed normal until it was about to finish writing. I received an error on the tablet:
Quote:
An error occurred while writing the ECU. Check cable connections, ignition switch position, then try again. Error code: 10010
I kept the tablet and cable completely still while it was writing.

After this I checked cable connection; all seemed good there. Assumed maybe it was a fluke and tried flash back to the original again. This time it didn't even begin the write operation. I was receiving the 10010 error before any writing happened. At this point I tried seeing if the OFT could read any data and got nothing. Can't see live diagnostic info, can't get ECU info, nothing. After this I unplugged OFT and tried to start the car. No crank, car won't start.

Before flashing the car had been running for ~30 min so I'm thinking it was unlikely a problem w the battery being low. I also disconnected the battery for about an hour and tried to start again, didn't work. When ignition is on I see a 'engine coolant high temperature' warning? Honestly no idea what to do from here. I'm thinking I'm screwed but I figured I'd post here to see if anyone have ideas before I start spending money to fix this issue.

Have you actually checked the battery power yet? Can't just assume it is fine need to verify as the first step.

So so many skip that step!
Sorry tuning is out of my pay grade so I can't help any more.

Steve has answered about this in the last, like here https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98810

your best bet is to try what he says (also dig in other posts of his)
and also contact openflash support

Check volts is over 12v

Ensure ignition full on , not just accessory

See if oft will read idagnosic data or ECU info, that will check connection

I'd say it cable issue or obd port bad connection

Try flashing back stock tune is original tune from oft
