The aluminum springs threw me. Color me schooled.

I've read where it is a good idea to remote mount the sensor to an area with less vibration than the engine.

No, no. You're still getting things wrong. Aluminum springs are atypical.

They hurt my brain.

We looked into using a brass spring in our charging contact assembly but ultimately realized it wasn't really affecting anything so we went with stainless. I haven't seen many coil springs made that way even though I know they exist, I believe the tension spring on motor brushes are copper a lot of the time, if they have brushes that is. Don't know what you would use an aluminum spring for.

If I hadn't already done it a dumber way, I would've done that. Those things ARE tuning forks.

I'm already partway there because my gauge is mechanical. I hoped to see more detailed pressure fluctuation but I think the tube is too long and skinny.

Brass is probably better for corrosion resistance. Probably aluminum too. Aluminum is probably better for weight or where magnetic fields are an issue.

I had always used mechanical gauges until someone pointed out that if it were to fail you would be pumping hot high pressure oil into you cabin.

Yeah. I went into it deliberately. Now, after the lame results, I'm somewhere between too lazy, cheap, and indecisive about the switch to an electrical one.

For the NPT threaded sensor or the adapter that goes into the block?

Looking back on the first page it appears through no fault of either party, you and nohavemsg are talking about different fitting torques.
