It's a lazy Sunday - figured I'd post some pictures to show why I'm building my car the way I am and why this car excites me so much
Auto Club Speedway (former California Speedway): My "home course" race track. I only live 25 min from this beast of a track and it's the most fun to daydream at. You get to pretend the massive stands are filled with fans all cheering for you as you cross the finish line! My only complaint is that there are almost no elevation changes until you get to the ROVAL but then the ROVAL makes up for it with extreme banking, gut-testing speeds and massive lateral G forces so it's all good here! Buttonwillow Raceway: This is the furthest drive for me in southern California (clocking in at about 3 hours). The first time I came here, I wasn't a huge fan but it is really growing on me and especially with the BRZ. For a track in the middle of a bunch of farm land, it has very interesting changes in elevation. "Magic Mountain" or "Phill Hill" as it's called is one of the highlights but in general this track is a great mix for speed and technical prowess. Willow Springs International Raceway (or "Big Willow"): This track isn't called the "fastest track in the west" for nothing... At over 2 miles long and only 9 turns, this track is a great place to test the high speed capabilities of your car. Over the years the track has grown a few bumps here and there but having your heart beating like a madman is ok every now and then. The turns 8-9 sweeper is the highlight here as you will hit ~110+mph in our cars and all four of your tires may not be making contact with the asphalt the whole way through That's all for now I'll try to get some pics from Chuckwalla Valley Raceway, Streets of Willow and the legendary Laguna Seca posted in the coming months!

AP "Sprint" Big Brake kit installed along with some Stoptech slotted rotors for the rears! With this upgrade, I'm now committing to separate track and street brake pads and I've decided to go with:
Track brake pads: Ferrodo DSUNO (F) Ferrodo DS1.11 (R) Street brake pads: Ferrodo DS2500 (F/R) I did discover my 17x9 RPF1's don't quite clear the calipers so I have some 20mm spacers inbound to remedy the situation >.< Thanks to Dennis at Evasive for letting me borrow their shop BRZ's 57 Extreme's for the weekend so I could make it home lol. I'll be breaking in the brakes at Streets of Willow on the 26th for the next FT86 Cup event and am looking forward to feeling the difference of a real performance pad vs. the DS2500's I've been using for all around duty up to this point. Thanks to CounterSpace Garage for the brake kit recommendation/purchase and Evasive Motorsports for the installation!

which offset did you end up with the enkei's? I'm interested to see how the AP calipers fit.

+45 - CSG_Mike said a +35 should clear with no problem. I'll just have to live with spacers

So I finally paid a visit to the legendary @robispec yesterday and got a set of his front lower control arms and a subsequent corner balance, height adjustment and alignment.
If you've never met Robi, he's the nicest guy and great not only for conversation but knowledge bombs the likes of which I always feel awed by. If you ever go to a track event in southern California, do yourself a favor and introduce yourself to him and consider yourself lucky He and his assistant "Junior" assembled the control arms right in his shop and it was like getting a gift from Santa himself hehe. As for the control arms themselves, they made a bigger difference in the steering feel than I was expecting and the anti-dive characteristics stood out the most to me. Under braking, acceleration and shifting, the car no longer feels like it pitches back and forth, now it's like the inertia in the car happens only in two dimensions (forward/backwards and side to side) rather than all 3 when the car used to dive and rock back and forth under the same situations. The steering feel is sharper and more direct now and I already feel more confident with the car. I would highly recommend this upgrade! I'll be returning on Friday for Robi's V2 oil cooler/radiator solution as well as a few other adjustments. I'll post more information when I get back from Laguna Seca next weekend!

I'll see you at Laguna. I'm only driving Friday though. The g/f and I are sight seeing SF during the weekend. What day are you running? I really want the V2 coolers as well. I've been sold on the idea for a while now but wallet is just not sold on it yet haha
