ImperiousRex's Greddy Turbocharged BRZ
Howdy folks! Just thought I'd post up some pics of my BRZ in development. It's a daily driver but I also track the car from time to time as well. If you guys have any suggestions on any parts that would compliment what I'm putting on the car, I'd love to hear it!
Latest Update! July 24, 2014 - Installed Greddy Circuit Oil Cooler and Koyorad Radiator! Here's my car at the moment (will update over time): My current list of mods include: Wheel/Tire Upgrades: Street setup: Gram Light 57Extreme (18x9.5 F/R) Continental DW Extreme (265/35R18 F/R) Ferrodo DS2500 Brake Pads (F/R) Track setup: Volk TE37SL (17x9 F/R) Hankook RS3 Ver 2 Tires (245/40R17 F/R) Wedsport TC105N (17x9 F/R) Maxxis RC-1 (235/40/17 F/R) Project Mu 999 Brake Pads (F/R) ARP Exended Studs Greddy Gunmetal Short Lugnuts Engine/Exhaust Upgrades: Greddy T518Z Turbo Tuner Kit Greddy FV Blow-Off Valve (with recirculation) Greddy Circuit Oil Cooler Greddy EVO3 Exhaust Greddy Neodymium Magnetic Oil Drain Plug EVS 70mm Front Pipe Deatschwerks 65C Fuel Pump Deatschwerks 700cc Fuel Injectors HKS M-Series Super Fire Racing Sparkplugs Koyorad Radiator Spal Medium/Low Profile Electric Cooling Fans Carolina Dyno Radiator Shroud Cusco Engine Mounts Cusco Baffled Oil Catch Can Perrin Polyurethane Exhaust Hangers Shorai Lithium Iron Lightweight Battery Kinetic Custom Machine Battery Bracket Transmission Upgrades: Exedy Stage II Cerametallic Clutch Kit Cusco Type RS Limited Slip Differential Drive Shaft Shop Carbon Driveshaft Perrin Transmission Mounts Suspension Upgrades: JRZ RS Coilovers - 9k(F) / 11k(R) Hypercoil Springs SPL Rear Control Arms Cusco Front Strut Bar with Brake Cylinder Brace Cusco Rear Strut Bar Cusco Front Sway Bar (20mm) Cusco Rear Sway Bar (16mm) Brake Upgrades: AP Racing "Sprint" Big Brake Kit (F) Spiegler Stainless Steel Brake Lines (F/R) APR Air Ducts APR Brake Backing Plates EVS Spec Hose Reducers and 2" Brake Duct Hosing Aero Upgrades: APR Front Air Dam APR Canards APR Side Rocker Extensions APR Rear Bumper Skirts Voltex Type 2 1600mm Wing Interior/Exterior Cosmetic Upgrades: FA20Club AC Vent Gauge TOM's LED Tail Lamps (JDM) Seibon VS Carbon Fiber Hood Seibon OEM Carbon Fiber Trunk Aerocatch Plus Flush Hood Pins VG Shark Fin Antennae Consumables Upgrades: Motul 300V 5w30 Oil Project Mu G-Four Brake Fluid Greddy Sport Oil Filter Planned upgrades in the "near" future: DriveShaft Shop Rear Axles Thanks to Evasive Motorsports and CounterSpace Garage for installing everything and putting up with me and my endless questions! >.< ==================== Pics of the parts and my notes on how they feel on the car: Wheel/Tire Upgrades: Loving the aesthetics of the 57 Extreme wheels. The weight is similar to the stock wheels and tires. Also at these widths, they do poke outside of the fender a bit. Would definitely recommend getting coilovers w/tophats or some kind of camber kit before upgrading to wheels/tires of this size. The RPF1 wheels on the other hand are very light and make the car feel so much more responsive and nimble. The R-S3's are also performing admirably at the track so this combination is making me quite happy Engine/Exhaust Upgrades: With the Greddy T518Z Turbo kit, the car is making more than 50% more power with a decently smooth spool up coming in at about 3.5k RPMs. The BOV is recirculated to keep the set up as efficient as we can. Nearly all the piping has been coated and wrapped and the car has been conservatively tuned for hard track use. With nearly 20k miles and 20+ track days with the turbo, the car is holding up pretty well. Cooling solutions include the Robispec V2 Radiator/Oil Cooler combo as well as upgraded Spal fans with a shroud by @Carolina Dyno. Transmission Upgrades: Currently running an Exedy Stage II Cerametallic clutch kit with lightened flywheel. So far the clutch has been pretty solid for daily driving as well as hard track use (but occasionally has issues when getting into gear from a full stop). The Cusco Type RS Limited Slip Differential has also been installed and is one of my favorite upgrades. Makes the car much easier to push hard through corners even with sport traction control on. And lastly a little weight savings in the form of a DriveShaft Shop carbon fiber driveshaft. Suspension Upgrades: The JRZ RS coilovers have provided amazing damping on fairly stiff springs (Hypercoil 9k F/11k R). Every click makes a noticeable difference! The Robispec front control arms added sharper and more direct steering feel and the anti-dive characteristics make the car feel much more stable under braking, acceleration and shifting. The SPL rear control arms have been solid with easier camber adjustment as well as decent access to the compression adjustment knobs on the JRZs. Strut and sway bars have stiffened up the car all around and the car in general is set up for neutral to mild oversteer. Brake Upgrades: Having used (and loved) the AP Racing J-Hook Rotors for my GT-R, I was already leaning towards the AP Racing "Sprint" Big Brake Kit but after an excellent sales pitch by CSG Mike, I was sold. Not only do I get to reunite with those rotors for the BRZ, I found out the brake pads for these calipers are so much thicker than the stock pads, which should lead to far fewer pad changes on top of the additional ventilation from the rotors. Any additional stopping power is just icing on the cake. Also with the new brake kit, I've also committed to separate track and street sets of brake pads and added some Stoptech slotted rotors for the rear for a little more ventilation as well. Interior: Installed the FA20Club AC Vent Multi-gauge. Plugs straight into the ODBII port and with it, I'm now able to keep track of Oil/Coolant temps, AFR, Boost, etc. Exterior/Aero: The TOM's LED Tail Lamps [JDM] and VG Sharkfin Antennae are the only purely cosmetic mods that I've added to the car but I've been quite happy with both. The tail lamps required some re-wiring to work with the USDM harness but Evasive handled it like the pros that they are! Also running full APR aero as well as a Voltex 1600mm wing for extra downforce. The Seibon VS Carbon Fiber hood was added for extra ventilation (despite being slightly heavier than stock >.<)! Latest Dyno: Mustang Dyno: Dynojet Dyno (with Heat Soak comparison): Dynapak Dyno: ==================== Thanks for taking a look and again if you guys have any feedback, I'd love to hear it!

Great wheel/tire choice but as you stated the car is dying for a proper coilover setup.

Haha thanks! You guys are doing a great job of working on it! ^_^
Yeah >.< I've ordered a set of JRZ RS Coilovers but they ran into a small issue of the coilovers making contact with the lower suspension parts in some settings or something like that so they're looking into it before they ship it out. Hopefully soon though!

It was nice meeting you too! Here's a pic of your ride that my wife took right after your track run. I'm also looking forward to your JRZs. They should be really nice!
