Trust/Greddy FRS/BRZ/86 Dog Box Transmission

I had the opportunity to test out Trust Racing's new 86 build for Toyo Tires. The car was equipped with a Greddy Performance 2.1L stroker kit, a Greddy T620Z Turbo kit with 550whp, and the revised Trust Racing 6 speed Dog box.

I won't go into too much detail since the photos can tell a lot but the gear set is made to fit in the stock transmission case.

With a ton of clutch kicks in 4th and 5th gear on Toyo's sticky Trampio R1R, the gear set was basically unharmed upon inspection. 4th gear is the common culprit for those of us with higher HP numbers and sticky tires. We shaved the reverse gear, and made 4th gear a lot thicker.

The gears are helical cut for two reasons. One: its quieter for street use (although i am sure some will say they like the gear whine), and two: helical cut gears are stronger than straight cut gears.

Since I am not a vendor here, I won't mention any pricing, but from one fellow FRS owner to others, I just wanted to let you guys know that we now have an option! no more broken 4th gears!

You can comment below for any questions, or contact Greddy Performance.

off topic, but what the fuck is going on with those strut mounts?!? Guessing longer lower control arms and tie rods for more steering angle which necessitates moving the strut more outboard?

Got any shots of the front suspension?

yep exactly. This car has a wisefab steering kit, which utilizes longer lower control arms. The struts are moved outwards equal distance to the lca.

ill upload more photos of the car in a bit.

It also relocates the steering rack inside the front crossmember, rather than behind it, and replaces the knuckles.
