@CSG Mike

I am preparing my car for its first event during the next round of 86 cup. I will be adding a Sprintex 210 supercharger plus intercooler(Scored a really good deal on it) Currently have the OEM+ Oil cooler with my NA setup and I know it will not cut it for track duty. Not to have to deal with high IAT or weird placements of an oil cooler, would the Jackson Racing Dual Radiator be a better choice and can it handle the heat the SC will put out with a 10 PSI pulley?

Or would this be enough in the Fog Lamp Area
MAP Oil Cooler

Everything else will be set with better pads and high temp brake fluid.

The Sprintex isn't track worthy, even with the optional heat exchanger. It will heatsoak really bad and there's nothing you can do about it, as the overall design is flawed.

If you're going to track the car, get rid of the kit.

Well I am not a hardcore track rat, just the occasional hpde.. this is mostly a DD and canyon/fun driver with flex fuel.

That's fine . Just warning you before you dump a lot of money on cooling parts trying to address an issue that can't be fixed, short of giving up on running that particular SC on track.

With an otherwise stock car, you'd just want:
- Oil cooler (Jackson Racing, Greddy...). The "OEM like" oil-to-water heat exchangers will be OK for maybe your first couple track days on a 6MT, no more. On an auto car they won't cut it at all.
- Brake fluid (PMU GFour, Endless, Brembo HTC, Castrol SRF..)
- Brake pads (PMU CR, Winmax W5/W6, Carbotech/GLoc XP10.. or CSG Spec brake pads ofc)
- Front camber bolts

I have decided on the Jackson racing dual radiator. Simple and effective. I already bought the supercharger so no going back. If it heat soaks at the track then so be it. Track time will make up a small precentage of my driving. Thanks for the warning.

i have a similar question: I have a 2013 6MT. My upgrades so far are FT86 Header, TRD catback exhaust, OFT with the Stage 2 E85 tune, and 5ad 19" x 8.5 and 19x9.5 wheels with Pirelli Tires. Will my wheel and tire setup be ok for the track? I plan on getting an oil cooler, new brake pads and brake fluid before hand.

You'll be fine, but I'd recommend getting a smaller wheel/tire package if you're gonna start tracking more often. 19's look good on the street but really hurt gearing and acceleration. For non boosted power levels, a lot of people go 17x8 with a tire size that gets them to about stock wheel/tire diameter. The classic Enkei RPF1's with some budget Hankook RS4's are something to look into without breaking the bank.

Like said above, they'll be "okay" as in they won't kill you. But they'll hold you back for sure, and I shudder to think of prices for 19" tires.

Find an inexpensive set of lightweight 17x8 or 17x9 wheels and throw some 225/45 or 245/40 tires on them.

Wheels and tires will be okay, but 19" with super skinny tires are more prone to damage from offs than a 17" or 18" with larger sidewalls.

Ill be installing some Koni yellows with a swift r springs (I believe they are close to 5k front and 6k rear) and the topic of bumpstops came up. I found this site with a few options>
https://www.resuspension.com/index.p...ot-series.html

This car I am striving to build is a budget autox/trackday/'daily' that will round out all three. aiming to stay in or around STX, and T4 for SCCA and NASA, as well as show aspiring individuals that for not very much you can have a highly tuned and fun machine.

The rest of the suspension is whiteline swaybar and endlinks, kumho V720 tires and stock control arms and spl camber bolts.

My gut tells me to run a shorter but stiff front bumpstop and a longer but softer rear. to allow front nose transitions in chicanes and slaloms but give the rear end a chance to squat and settle without oversteer concerns.

Not sure if it fits in this thread but I just did my first Novice Autocross and would like to see what class I'm in.

My local club has a rule if you do 3 novices groups or win novice you gotta go to your class. I posted on their forum about classification but no one has answered me for days now.

Their classification is:

Quote:
Uses the SCCA's car classing scheme and the portion of their rules that deals with car classing
the only exception is they have Adoption of our old SMST classes.

I think they have SMST and SMST2.

2013 FR-S
Mods I have are:
Wheels 17x8 +35
Tires 225/45/17
2017+ OEM CF Wing
Lip Kit
Catback Exhaust

I don't really have FB, I went to MartinSCC and know there is a SCCA around here that's about it.

Old data, but decent for starters I hope.

Go to Classing Guidelines in the middle of the 2nd paragraph.

This is just a summarized list, but it sounds like more than you've found so far. The safest bet is to read the complete SCCA rule set.

The wing and lip sound like they bounce you far from where your actual performance will be. You're not street (aka stock) and even Street Touring doesn't allow for wings and spliters unless they were available from the dealer/Toyota as common options from a non-TRD catalog for that year. Best guess is C Street Prepared, but don't quote me on that.
