What class are you running in? Some LCA's aren't legal for certain classes.

I don't believe there are any recalls or major issues with SPC's rear lower control arm. Plenty of serious drivers use them.

It's designed similar to the OE arm with a slot and eccentric bolt. Personally, I like the design for daily drivers and salty environments. Rod ends (heim joints) are tough to do engineer properly/reliably (just check Velox's development thread).

Also, if you need more than 2 degrees of adjustability in either direction (beyond the natural camber that you get from lowering the car), the SPC arms aren't the best choice. Whiteline is good for ~2.5 degrees. If you plan to have limited travel, go with Stance or Voodoo13. Otherwise, SPL, ISC, Velox, and Cusco are great options.

Since your title refers to autocross... SCCA C-street doesn't allow this modification, but STX class does (as long as you're using a rubber/urethane outer bushing). I can't speak for other autocross organizations.

I use the newest Whiteline LCA and have no complaints. It's basically the same as the SPC, but the bushing is legal for STX class. It does everything I need it to do.

I think SPC and Racer X (if you get the bushing instead of the heim joint) are the only STX legal LCA's?

Velox has a urethane rod end for stx legality. And iirc there's one more, maybe rsr that has the right rod end.

The off the shelf SPC lca isn't technically legal as it's a lubricated spherical bearing in a rubber joint and it has to be pressed out and replaced with a legal bushing. Only a pedant would call you on it though, go for it and spend the money to replace it if you start gunning for nationals.

I'm running stx on scca .... And no I don't need a crazy amount of camber... It was what ever the shop needed for camber while they did their tune....

Read up on the rules here: http://cdn.growassets.net/user_files...pdf?1458856541

You can't have spherical in STX. There are also other constraints in the rules.

Old thread, but any restrictions on LCA for SM class? That's my eventual destination :-)

I'd advise you to read the rules here: https://www.scca.com/downloads/40392...duced/download

The SM rules start on page 180.
