Few questions from a new owner
After a few days with my new to me GT86 I have some questions ha
The overall ride quality seems good no real issues but if the road is a bit rough or I am dealing with speed bumps the front end seems very "crashy" Is this normal ? I get the feeling I have a blown shock up front. Another odd thing it does and maybe this is related to the bad shock is under light braking say slowing down for a light or stop sign the front end seems to sort of oscillate. Like it has this sort of back and forth rock to it. The previous owner did put on new pads and disk up front but they were as cheap as you can get and unfortunately unlike in the states were you can get good cheap blanks these were just cheap. I will be replacing them with OEM or better soon so that might fix this issue as I might just have a slightly warped rotor Last thing I did notice was the speedo is reading low by 5kph/3mph. Tire size is stock and the car itself is stock. Is this normal ? if not any fix beyond just drive faster TLDR Bought a 2014 gt86 that might have a blown shock and warped rotors

The probability of having warped rotors is very very remote even if cheap. OEM is the way to go.

I was at Toyota today ordering pads and rotors. The car will be seeing track time so I want to make sure the rotors are of good quality. OEM pads will be for the street driving

I hate just throwing parts at something to try to correct a problem but the obvious answer is, as you plan, to replace the brakes and see if that helps. If not then onto the struts and hopefully that is it. If not then you are in for an adventure.

sounds like it's most likely greasy pads.
https://alconkits.com/technical-info...ed-brake-discs it's fine to change rotors and pads, though a thorough cleaning to the rotors and a good set of quality pads would likely bring braking performance back as well.

On your speedometer being off check your tire pressure. It may help all around to level it to spec.

How do you know that your speedometer is reading low? That might be reading high.

I had a feeling it might be off because when driving home I couldn’t keep up with my friend and we both sent our Cruise control at the same speed. So I checked and I was right
