Are the 2014 in stock or are they being built?

I have been waiting for a turbo or sti variant of the brz/frs since they released the car. Knowing that the sti or turbo version won't come out for many years or possibly wont come out i have decided not to wait any longer...but after reading up on so many first year production issues I have decided to wait until the second year model.

Could somebody please enlighten me?

Call your local dealer. There are almost no 2013 left in the Phoenix area. The majority of the FR-S on the lots here are all 2014. Most of the local dealers are doing "clearance" on the 2013.

2nd year model is identical, both on the FR-S and BRZ.

I have a late 2013 BRZ Limited, and with the exception of chirping, all the early production issues have been resolved. My car has none of the problems other early adopters complain about. You should feel confident of the quality a 2014 will provide.

Everyone knows you don't buy a first year production car, because any manufacturer will have problems. I would have waited for a 2014, but my previous cars transmission went out.

If serious about buying, I recommend getting a quote from Clint at Heuberger motors in this BRZ thread. Then go to your dealership and compare their best price. You'll probably find Clint's price to be thousands less.

Edit: Noticed your location is "NOVA", if that's Nova Scotia, never mind.

I have a 2014 and it was built in August. All the 2014 manuals were also printed in August. The specs remain exactly the same (if you're in Canada, the HU has been changed from the Pioneer to the Fujitsu Ten one).

I was at the dealership in New Hampshire a few weeks ago and they had a 2014 in the showroom. Could have been the only one they had LOL

If you can find a 2013 get it!! I got a hell of a deal on one.. My dealer had to go outta state to get it.

It was built in July '13 so its should have most of the bugs out.

False.

There are fairly minor changes to both (blue instead of black badge on BRZ steering wheel, red stitching on FR-S center console and door speaker trim, etc.). Nothing mechanical or performance related changed, but they are not identical.

Woah! I guess I better trade my car in for a 2014 model!

NOVA might stand for Northern Virginia, it's a pretty popular term in Virginia. Whenever I here it, I think of Villanova (University) because I'm from the Philly area.

Thus why I said "fairly minor". There's a difference between "fairly minor changes" and "identical".

It's funny when Floridians joke about fairly minor details.
