Car wont start and everything is connected properly

I just replaced my transmission, and the car started before I took it off the jack stands, and then once I put it back on the floor, it wouldnt start. Not sure as to why it decided to not start now. The transmission is dripping a little bit of fluid and I'm out of coolant. But I'm not sure which one is the issue.

Update: I added coolant and transmission fluid and it still wouldnt start. It would crank but not start.

Do you have any power mods?

You sure their is gas in the tank?

Is the battery cranking over the engine strongly?

Why was the engine out of coolant? Did you do anything else to the car when you messed with the transmission?

Sounds like it's not getting fuel to me -

Odd as why you need coolant?

Check your starter cables.

Check that you didn't fry the battery or fuses.

Does it crank, or does it try to start?

Your tranny shouldn't leak. Not sure how you could be low on tranny fluid?
Unless you have an automatic......

Do you have an automatic transmission?
That would explain the coolant...

Put it back up, unplug and check all connections you disconnected then go again.

I would hazard to guess it's just a bad connection.

Once fixed ensure you do some mad skids to show the car who is the boss.

I just put a gallon of gas in, but it said I had a quarter tank prior to that. And then I tried to start it and nothing happened so I tried to jump start it and it just made a whirring sound. Also no power mods.

Did you take the flywheel off? If yes, remove the torque converter bolt access cover and rotate the engine by hand with a long ratchet on the crank bolt. The flywheel should run perfectly straight. If you've got the locating pin hole located incorrectly it may be crooked and the starter may have trouble engaging the ring gear.

Sorry,
How did you guess I was halfway into a bottle? For the record I'm a cognac man.

A "whirring sound" to me, sounds like the starter is running but not engaging the flywheel.

You mentioned in your first post that "It would crank but not start".

I'm confused. Does the starter turn the engine over or not?

Yep, fancy pants over here. Lol. I just like the taste. I can drink it like it was soda. Well till my body overrides my brain.

Back the the topic, sounds like a dead battery. If it made a whirring sound that makes me think the battery had just enough juice to move the starter.

Or that the starter was or is not fully engaged to the fly wheel.

If all else fails, try taking the tranny out again, yeah it's a pain. But you'll might find the answer if you do.

Third and more costly, tap out and pay a mo'canic. Not what any diy-ers want to hear.

So I probably killed the battery trying to start it, but i didnt disconnect anything except the transmission itself. I left the clutch and flywheel alone. And it would crank over in the beginning but not start

This is old school, but, you may wish to give it a try. Make sure your battery is charged up. Then spray some "starting fluid" into the intake while another person cranks the engine over. If it fires and runs for a short spell and then stops, that would indicate you have a fuel problem.
