4.88 is essentially 30lb ft of torque but in gearing instead. It just goes to show that all our engine needed was about 19-20%(182 tq) more torque(FA25) with the stock gearing.

The OP had more torque than a standard engine due to his other mods so the effect of the 4.88 is greater.

That's also true. He has a header and e85 so I assume he was making about 30-35% more torque. That's why I want the 5.29fd(29%) for my auto.

I went with the 4.88s in my automatic and love it. Dropped 0 to 60 times by a full second and dropped 30 mph to 70 mph times by 1.5 seconds. And I can still get 30 mpg at 70 mph on the freeway.

Do you think the 5.29(extra 10%) would be a bit too over the top for the 6AT? Your setup is the main reason I'm into FD's now.

For me and my driving I think it would be to much. 2nd, 3nd, and 4th are pretty close together. I can run all my favorite short tracks in 2, 3, and 4th. There's a big spread from 4th to 5th and going to 5.29's would require the use of 5th on the track, which depending on the track might hurt. Can't say for sure having not needed 5th so far. And I have not ran any of the longer faster tracks like Big Willow with the FRS, only my Minibusa.

That's weird because when i'm going 130km/h its just beneath 4000rpms.
I only have the 4.56 swap. Go test again

Do you know that effect on 6th gear will be different than on 1st?
I will try to take a photo next time on flat highway. In the meanwhile, you can look at this:

I have AT with weir FD 4.88 , no noise or little noise before 150km but never tested over 190km.
It's good in 1 2 3 but gear ratio of 4 5 6 will drop acceleration after 4.
I like 5.29 but it will make 1 gear alittle horrible in street.
This mod is the best mod for changing driving feeling

I know the effect the final drive will have and am keen but figured if they were playing around with the transmission I could get them to do the cross gear set at the same time but will the combo be better or stuff up the ratios?

And, yes, I did search but couldn't find out info about the combined effect.
You should be fine if my interpretation of this table is correct showing Toyota's 14R60 coming with the modified 1st and 2nd gear and 4.555 final drive ratio: Link
