USB Connection

Hey everyone,

I currently have a 2015 BRZ. I have the OEM Fujitsu Head Unit that looks like this:

I'm looking at getting one of the NEX-series head units from Pioneer.

My question is, how hard would it be to re-use the existing USB connection (to the right of the gear shift) to connect my phone to the head unit? As I understand the other end of that USB is a proprietary connection to the Fujitsu head unit. Anyone have any insight on this?

Thanks in advance!

get this, it fits in the OEM spot, and there's no messy cutting

Check my signature for my DIY - I listed the adapter you need to retain USB connection in the first post

Edit: If you're as lazy as I am - here:
for USB: just ebay: Axxess AX-TOYUSB (axtoyusb) Select Toyota & Lexus OEM USB Retention Adapter

Or just cut Fujitsu USB connector on harness and solder standard USB connector
