Battle Garage Ultimate Throwout Bearing

Just wanted to leave this here. I saw this the other day on CM Autohaus's youtube channel. It looks like a great upgrade. Thoughts?

I needed a TOB so I ordered one. Will update when it arrives. Probably won't actually go in the car for another month.

There is a 15 min video from CM Autohaus's youtube channel linked on the shop page that show how much grease to apply inside the carrier. He said multiple times not to add too much or it will sling off onto the clutch. Just a FYI.

Yup, finally got the things sorted that I told myself I needed to do before it could actually be pushed. I kind of would love a reason to try this TOB

After watching that video I am convinced that guy puts grease on everything lol.

Sandwich, grease. Sushi, grease. Dog, grease. Grease, grease.

Remember what I was saying about how the binding is solved by extending the tail of the bushing behind the line of contact between the fork tines? They had a golden opportunity.

don't forget to grease your keyboard. i've seen video's fail to upload without it. really dangerous.

i'm curious about it. the construction differences make sense, though the "ALL OEM BEARINGS ARE GONNA FAIL IN -3 SECONDS WITHOUT THIS" fearmongering is a little over the top.

Yeah, that would help a lot. Wouldn’t even have to extend it that much either.

Shit ton of available real estate going to waste. Hopefully someone reads this and makes a proper carrier.

It arrived, quite quickly actually. They also included a piece of the box for the bearing with the part number in the package which I thought was very cool of them to do. It is a Toyota genuine bearing PN 90363-40022.

So it is significantly longer than the stock TOB. I will take some measurements when I have time. The amount supported by the quill is not as long as it appears, but it is I would say about a 1/3rd longer then the stock TOB. Pictured is an Exedy replacement TOB from their OEM replacement clutch kit. I will also check fit on my spare transmission which is here at work later today. I am pretty happy with it on initial inspection.
