Firstly for maintenance and then before the Reds went back on the car after the ASTs Josh suggested going non-inverted with 7k springs up front so I did.

Don't waste your money on trash.
Save longer and get something worth putting on the car.
BC and everything else in that barrel are worse than the oem dampers.

If comfort is priority, look at Ohlins, or stick with a mild drop on lowering springs.

BC is going to ride like garbage, regardless of how you adjust it.

For the fuel pump comments, I've autocrossed several cars that would require over half a tank of fuel to avoid the risk of fuel starving (CRX, S2000, MR2 Spyder). I frequently run my FRS with the fuel light on and have never had such an issue.

As far as budget street/track/autocross coilovers, I have no experience with their FT86 products, but I've purchased coilovers from both Pro Parts and Redshift and think both are fantastic companies that offer fantastic products and support.

Intrigued, as they offer coilovers with no damping adjustment, which I'd prefer for classification purposes (saves me 40 lb.!).

However the damping curve on their site seems to be seriously lacking in low-speed rebound damping. But I'm no expert...

Regarding fuel starvation, that happened to me once, at Palmer after two [LEFT]-hand turns 1 & 2. With just under half a tank the car momentarily lost power between 2 and 3 in my first two time-trial laps! Then another car in my TT group had a big off (he was fine but bent the car he borrowed!) so I was able to duck into the pits and borrow some fuel for re-run Won TT by 1/2 a second, would have been CLOSE with sputtering car...

FTR that was with factory PP dampers, Raceseng camber plates, Swift BRZ Sport lowering springs, on 225 RE71R tires.

Reminds me of the OE dampers with TRD springs.
I'm going to try Sachs and then make a decision.

For that money you should be buying a Bilstein B12 Pro-Kit or finding PP Sachs dampers used and running the RCE Yellow lowering springs /w their combo (comes with SPC Rear LCA and camber bolts for the front). If you can find CSG Spec Tein Flex As for less than $1500 all-in, that's also a good option.

Don't buy BC Racing or any other Chinesium junk, as they're going to be worse than the factory dampers. There's a ton of people in this platform community that slam their cars, which means the damper quality basically doesn't matter since they're riding on springs mostly (due to running high spring rates to stay off the bump stops). Since you're not planning on slamming it and seem to want to enjoy driving it, don't listen to anyone recommending ChinaBay brands... they don't know what the fuck they're talking about.

Current track setup is PP Sachs dampers with Swift BRZ Sport springs and Raceseng camber plates. Similar stiffness to RCE Yellows and Eibach Pro-Kit. Unfortunately the lower ride height combined with the camber plates (more lost bump travel) and factory PP dampers results in harsh bottoming-out of the fronts over all but the smallest bumps... That's with the front bump stops cut down from ~60mm to ~25mm.

I'd like to go stiffer overall vs. current 3.8/4.5 rates, while gaining back lost bump travel.

I might consider sticking with my current springs and camber plates but swapping in Bilsteins in place of the stock PP Sachs dampers *if* the Bilsteins have significantly more bump travel...

I thought fuel starvation only happened turning left?

Fuel starve happens. Even on 245 SX2s with no aero and over half a tank lol.

As far as the reliability of the components go, I think there are enough out there to vouch for them. People beat the shit out of them, hellaslamming dragging them around car meets and getting stuck in driveways. The main issue is QC and the quality and consistency of the valving, which is probably not great but not quite as bad as many make them out to be.
BCs modified to that extent are no longer BCs but instead just use a cheap housing that BC also happens to use. Like Feal or other companies mentioned it is possible to make something good from that. When BC gets mentioned here it's ots stuff and while it may not be the worst in the world it is not great and there are much better options in OPs price range.

Dammit-all! Yeah, running Palmer CCW, turns 1 & 2 are indeed LEFT turns!
