Talk to @ATL BRZ. He's an HPDE instructor in Atlanta.

http://www.motorsportreg.com/calenda...s=60&zip=30316 Check out the calendar for local AutoX events at Turner Field and Atlanta Motor Speedway parking lots. I don't autocross anymore because I just don't get the return on investment anymore with time and fun. If you take your car to a HPDE on a road course, be warned, Autocross will never be the same again.

You can always come out and spectate. I have done a lot of track days, probably 30 or so, but have always preferred autocross.

In contrast, HPDE is at a minimum $200 and I would at least recommend upgrading your brake pads and fluid for your first track day. AutoX IMHO is a great stepping stone for those looking at 'pushing their car' to the limits. Then, you can always see how you like it and move on to HPDE and regular track days. |
