SCCA hosts autocrosses in Atlanta frequently.

Check out the calendar for local AutoX events at Turner Field and Atlanta Motor Speedway parking lots.

I don't autocross anymore because I just don't get the return on investment anymore with time and fun. If you take your car to a HPDE on a road course, be warned, Autocross will never be the same again.

Agree ATL. However, their is an event this Sunday at Turner Field. As mentioned before, you can sign up on motorsportsreg

why do you say autocross will never be the same? and how much does it cost to enter a HPDE?

haha yea I saw that but that's too early. Need time to prepare and find more about autocross. Might try the one on either 4/13 or 4/20

You can always come out and spectate. I have done a lot of track days, probably 30 or so, but have always preferred autocross.

You don't need any car mods to prepare for AutoX. All stock components are fine. The cost is only $33 to drive locally and the ATL region has a great novice day that gets you 6 runs as opposed to the traditional 4 for everyone else.

In contrast, HPDE is at a minimum $200 and I would at least recommend upgrading your brake pads and fluid for your first track day.

AutoX IMHO is a great stepping stone for those looking at 'pushing their car' to the limits. Then, you can always see how you like it and move on to HPDE and regular track days.
