I missed a deal last week on a full swap for $3,000 shipped that was local. I didn't realize it was for sale I would have grabbed it!

If I don't find anything stateside in the next ~ 10days I'll likely contact the company in Canada and have one shipped down.
wow, that's good to hear! didn't know they were that cheap already with the car being so new. Looking forward to some under $1k longblocks in a few years like the Miata!

I gave him a call. I don't want to destroy his mint condition motor LOL. I mostly just need the case, crank, and possibly heads. If anyone wants a good condition motor his price is really quite decent considering the condition. (trust me i've talked to a LOT of companies this week).

Hmm,

My engine locked up a few weeks ago and I am removing my engine from my car next week. I have plans for Full Blown Motorsports to build my short block (hoping that my cylinder walls are good). Though, I am assessing that the cause was due to the ECU or the Variable Valve Timing Control system.

Basically, I am curious if it is cheaper to buy a built engine on the forms or to have one built. I'll be paying around 3K to have mine built with a 10:1 compression. Just figured I'd ask

The full blown short block really isn't that expensive if your core is salvageable. Call and ask them if yours will work. My current build i am estimating (doing it my self) 5-8k to complete. I am doing it from a fresh motor, either used or new... But i also plan on doing valve spring upgrade as well.

Nice! That sounds like it will be a really nice build. I want to use the Tomei cams and valves but they won't be available until Feb. So I figured I'd only do the short block for now (suggested by LJ at Full Blown). Hopefully the block is good to go!

Still looking. Hoping to avoid buying a new short block. That and I may need a pair of heads...

Thanks, Yes I'm perfectly fine. They were gonna fix it but kept finding stuff. They took good care of me on the values and I don't have to drive a fixed wreck. Got me a Chrysler 300C SRT8 to replace it. I did drive it home and the motor is perfect

You should ask them what the buy back price is. If it was significant enough it may be cheap. I am curious what the buy back is on a car that was totaled. How bad was the damage?
