there's tons of 'Van' surnames around my area, a large amount of businesses have it as part of their name. it's part of being dutch.

lol. Worst thing is to have to explain a bad joke.
Depending on the area of the german speaker, they read the words closer to what is written. In a case like this, van der steur could sound like / van-der-stoir/ or /van-der-steer/, which sounds like understeer /en-der-stir/ spoken by german speaker Again, bad joke that didn’t work |
