bought air ride suspension and its damaged

so i bought air lift performance kit used and the seller told me that every thing is in good condition and when i get the package the 2 front bags are close to having holes in them and the thread on them is damaged, wires are cut, missing tie rod endlinks.
what do you guys think i should do should i go through paypal with the buyer protection plan because he sent me damaged goods or make him send me a refund.
thanks

I personally would never purchase something from someone that types (and therefore presents) them self like that on what should be a professional transaction. I also would never carry out a transaction for something of that price, value through text messages.

I'd complain to the buyer first - send them the images, and be clear about the issue and that you want to return the product for a refund (or want a partial refund if you think it'll still work alright and that damage doesn't bother you - I know very little about air suspension, but I wouldn't want a part that looks that abused on my car).

If he isn't cordial with you and doesn't respond or gets hostile, I'd go through PayPal - GL.

hopefully you did not send the money over paypal as a gift. try and reason with the seller first before resorting to filing a claim with paypal. it definitely looks like he was trying to mislead you since he stated that he would clean them, but he didn't happen to notice the damage. or maybe he "cleaned" them too good and actually damaged it. though, I do agree with Ammunition that I would never do business with anyone who writes like that even if it is over texts.

as for the end links, did he explicitly state that end links are included? most coilovers don't include those so I'm thinking that this set might not have included them originally either.

and if he falls through, file a claim with paypal and post a review on the seller in the seller feedback forum.

PayPal is pretty good with returning your money. I've done the process a couple times on bad transactions.

To me that damage to rubber bags looks like rubbing from too wide tire/wheel, not from some overzealous .. "cleaning".

Is it possible to repair the damaged thread and if so and if the seller replaces the 2 bags, you think i should just keep the kit?
Or is the bottom part of the thread irrelevant?
