Replied to +1. Hate to see a car being down because a tuner was too lazy to set up a boost cut.

Yes I was it was holding on strong with the right boost but it's not a surprise what happened on about 20psi. Just trying to see what caused it to over boost smh.

Delicious Tung was your tune source? That is strange, considering they advertise as having boost cut in their tunes - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=52200

Quote:
Delicious Tuning - Unique Custom Mapping Notes:

1. Use of stock direct injectors and port injectors on E85 up to ~350 whp or 11 pounds of boost.
2. Remove all signs of shift knock or throttle blip knock for boosted vehicles
3. Add switchable boost maps through the cruise control (including boost cut)
4. Added FlexFuel into all the above maps, including switchable boost maps
5. Boost/Fuel/Timing/Cams control up to 22 PSI
@DeliciousTuning - Any feedback regarding why a 7.5psi tune with boost cut would see 20psi?

Not trying to call them out or "start" anything. Just figured I'd throw the question out there since OP is unsure of a cause.

I'd guess a vac leak with the EBCS not seeing boost, preventing the wastegate from opening. The only issue with that is ecutek boost cut (fuel cut) is based on MAP reading. I can't see OP's situation happening unless boost really did spike from 7.5psi to 20psi faster than ecutek's fuel cut kicked in due to Delicious setting the fuel cut delay too high, or the boost cut simply was not configured. Both would be tune related problems, even though a vac line did disconnect. We use EcuTek for these safeguards and trust tuners to set them up properly.

Hit 19 psi on a few pulls before it blew but did the math and I hit approximately 16.82 psi on the run where it actually went out.

Ouch. Well, next time you know to stop beating on it once you go over target boost. You're usually good for a couple psi over boost targets but definitely not double the target.

Still interesting how the boost cut did not trigger even after multiple pulls overboosting. It sounds like boost cut was not configured in your tune, which they advertise it being on all FI tunes.

Yea wasn't trying to beat on it that's the worst part was doing logs and seen the problem. Pulled over to reflash the map to see if it would help then boom!! 1st pull it gave out.
