Smile Have you stripped some weight off your FRS?

I don't own one yet but I am planing to do so soon. I am curious to know if any of you have made any modifications to strip some weight off the car. If so, what kind of modifications have you made and how much did it cost you roughly?

Stripping weight is free.....Get rid of interior liner and spare tire or back seats if you wanna go racecar.

I understand FRS has aluminum in it but I think handcrafted carbonfiber is still lighter ( by a small margin?) Also lighter wheels? (although the stock are quite light), lighter seats and more carbon fiber through the interior to loose more weight. I was wondering if anyone has gone that route ad if it was worth it.

Exhaust, brakes, spare tire, seats, wheels are all good places to start. Check some autox build threads for good ideas on shedding weight.

Very basic plan for losing weight in the FR-S:

Perrin CBE - 10 lbs. (R)
Borla UEL - 10 lbs. (F)
Spare tire and tools - 30 lbs. (R)
Lighweight battery - 20 lbs. (F)
Robispec Front LCA's - 6 lbs. (F)

Total weight loss - 76 lbs.

Muffler delete with a nameless performance or berk track pipe sheds 23lbs off the rear in like 5 minutes and $100. Rear seats I believe with base and back weighs around 63 pounds. Spare tire and tools what not lose upto 40 lbs i believe. So for about $100, you shed upto 150lbs. Also cf parts on the exterior of our car dont do much since everything is lightweight. cf doors might help but our factory hood weighs equal to or less than aftermarket hoods so dont waste your money there.
