I would love to see measured numbers on this. Laminova claims their cores have low pressure drops, but ONLY across their cores. Once you house that in some kind of housing, pressure drops precipitously.

I bet it is. I can't wait for mine to come in. Any idea as to when you will receive your tune file back?

I got my map, install begins in about 2 hours. I'll post an update tonight. If I get done in time, I might hit the dyno down in Richmond tomorrow morning.

Well I am still waiting on FA20_club.com to send my cable but my car just got a CEL with P0303 and P219A. So it doesn't look like I will be doing my install anytime soon..

Tony is crazy busy today. I got impatient and gave him a call just to send a reminder about the map lol.

I drove the car around, but i'm going to reserve my judgements until Tony makes one or two revisions.

I was expecting the s/c to be louder not going to lie. Then again i'm pretty much stock as I only have a catback, so i'm not sure if that makes any difference.

DOES ANYONE have a diagram of the vacuum routing? I messed up somewhere as I expected because the directions are non-existent for the hose extensions. I have no idea where I went wrong.

Moto-east, Mike have my SC installed today. Drop off at noon, pick up at 5:30 evening.
I drove a manual transmission.
First impression (acceleration):
1) car drive felt like a 2010 WRX.
2) Fifth gear drives felt like third gear.
3) Sixth gear drives felt like fourth gear.

'84 non-intercooled Turbo Buick stock compression ratio - 8.0:1

2013 FA20 engine in FT86 stock compression ratio - 12.5:1

That Buick's final compression ratio @ 8psi is 12.4:1 - still less than the FT86 from the factory before the supercharger.

The FT86's final compression ratio @ 8psi is 19.4:1 - even N/A Diesel engines don't run that high...and they need heat for their compression cycle.

Those 2 engines do not make for such a great comparison, as they are far too different.
The Buick ran 14 psi ! Final Compression ratio of 15.6:1 according to page 42 of Perkins-Davis Supercharging Handbook. Many ran it 18psi no issues.

No doubt we are treading on new territory with forced induction on this high compression FA20 (your co. included). Most of us thought FI would be impossible for this engine but the DI proved us wrong, so I think its too early to be fear-mongering about the lack of intercooler. The data logs will tell the story.

For the people that installed their supercharger. Did you have any clearance issues on the driver side on the front of the flange that bolts to the block? Mine was hitting in that area. I was still able to bolt the supercharger down but it was off a tiny bit (was able to bolt it down using a socket wrench).
