What i am saying is that...the video show a completely stock 86 with stage 2 ecu tune makes 222 hp vs stock 200 hp. Therefore, some bolts on and the tune, you can net in 220 rwhp. It is do-able.

Seeing how the tuner already make it that ar on pure stock 86, there is no reason why an STI version can not gain 250hp with the same engine and bolts on.

Tell me, do you really expect an STI BRZ with 250 hp for the same price ? Get real

All i am saying is that it is Quiet Possible to make STI 250hp NA

If all they are doing is just using the control system and raising it. Shoooot, I'll just go to the dealership and tell them to re-program it and boom! I'm done hahahaha.
That is in no way any form of a confirmation. The car they are referring to is the BRZ tS, which is already confirmed to be 200hp. All else is just speculation. As far as an STi variant coming out? Don't expect anything until at least 2016. The contract between Toyota and Subaru will be up by then. Any changes to the car currently requires approval from both corporations before they can be greenlighted (reason why the convertible was killed; Subaru didn't want to build it).

Do you have a problem with M parts on a non-M BMW? AMG parts on a non-AMG mercedes? R-line parts on a non-R VW? F-sport parts on a non-F Lexus? I can keep going and going. Like those companies, STi is just the aftermarket OEM arm of Subaru, which produces plenty of parts for their full line of vehicles, STi variants or not. It's no different than ticking the "sports package" of most car models.

Did I say or even suggest that? No, I was getting at your original post about the "reprogramming".

You see what I'm getting at?

Yes, actually. haha I think it's cheesy and tacky.

It's just me though. No offense. If you like it, that's all it matters.

None taken. I just see it the other way is all. I think its no different than rocking a greddy sticker if you have their parts on your car, etc

I prefer to have no stickers, includes STI and Greddy blah blah and keep it quiet. Don't like to sponsor anything that I am not getting discounted for. And if someone wants to race on a race track, they have no idea what they are getting themselves into

That is indeed odd and something I had noticed myself. I love my STi lip kit. By far the best looking on the market for the BRZ. Was a pretty simple install too, very straight forward, even for the non Japanese readers. Just take your time is all I have to say.

On another note, anyone that ordered the tS fender garnish shipped yet? Ordered mine the 16th or so of December. I know there is a large wait for them, just curious if anyone got an email notification about them being shipped.

I plan on getting the authentic STI lip for Summer Mode, but I will be getting the knock off lip for Winter Mode.

I should be ordering the STI fender part tomorrow or sometime this weekend. Have you emailed yuki@japanparts.com? He should be able to give you heads up. If you email now you'll get a response later tonight. Keep us posted on what you find out. Thanks!

That's in like... two days, yo! I'm gonna have to commit to it by this weekend, then. Would love to be one of the first to post up pics of it installed.

I have a question... Why would they give it a larger diameter driveshaft if it still creates the same amount of power? Won't that just add weight and slow it down? Is it just for potential power tuners?

Knowing Subaru, creating a "tuned by STI" car means they actually hope for their customers to race their cars, which would mean that having a beefier drive shaft that can take repeated abuse would be a bonus, especially if the weight gains are negligible, which I'm sure they are. Kinda like how people ask why put Brembos on this car: It has more to do with less brake fade over the course of the day compared to stock calipers and pads wearing quicker from racing all day.

I totally understand the Brembos. They are advantageous all around. I wish the standard car had Brembos. But yeah, I just found it strange that they would bother upgrading the driveshaft when they made no power enhancements. But like you said, maybe this time around they are expecting people to abuse this model a bit more. Hopefully that means they upgraded the CV joints too since those seem to be the bigger issue on tuned cars right now.
