This is an awesome read to understand your blower!

HOW TO AVOID & ANALYZE SUPERCHARGER PROBLEMS

Would be awesome if Innovate came out with something like this.

Not to jack the thread, but after reading through 100+ pages of this and deciding on the Innovate stage 2, does anyone know a good shop around Centralish Jersey to get the install/tuning done?

Compilation of Owner-Mentioned Hiccups

Multiple people have stopped by to ask what issues the owners are having, because that is often one of the top questions by people trying to decide on a kit. Slogging through dozens of pages is laborious, so here is a compilation of the hiccups/issues reported by the owners here.

The numbers in the grid are the post numbers where the hiccup is mentioned, and the resolution is in parenthesis. "sr" means the issue was self-resolved by the owner, "ic" means the issue was resolved by Innovate/Sprintex; the number inside the parenthesis indicates the post number where the resolution was resolved. For example, xjohnx reported his blower was missing a clip in post 739 of this thread and reported in post 775 of this thread that this was resolved by Innovate/Sprintex.

There are 56 owners currently listed in OP. Of those owners, fifteen of them (26%) mentioned a total of 29 hiccups/issues.

Of those who mentioned hiccups/issues:
20% reported coil failures.
15% suffered a belt failure.
15% suffered a idler pulley failure.
15% discussed the weak/loose plastic elbow fittings.
15% discovered an intercooler coolant leak.
15% had to deal with disintegrating bolts/fasteners.
all other issues were only reported by 1 or 2 people.

Feel free to interpret the data however you wish. I hope it was useful to have it compiled from 174 pages to one image.

FYI...I didn't have an idler pulley failure. I had some squeaking, which I thought was the idler pulley. I replaced it with a new one, but it didn't go away.

The code I got was a cylinder 1 miss fire not a coil failure. I have not gotten it again. It was hypothesized that it could be a bad coil pack.

Innovate (Sprintex) Supercharger Owners Topic

You can put me down for a chirping idler pulley as well. My fault though as I did not shim it in the back and the belt is riding more towards the front of the pulley instead of in the middle. Good thing napa has them for only $16. . Btw what's the best way to shim it anyway?

Been looking through the last 30 or so pages and have done a search for how big a hit the sprintex chargers have on economy as I do alot of country runs.

I know it will be worse than standard and I expect that but as long as it's not huge so if anyone can even say how much they have lost per tank or mpg / LTs to the 100 k .

Our consumption went from 33 to 32 MPG when cruising. The blower freespins when under low loads, so it is pretty much taken out of the equation except for a tiny bit of bearing drag/rotational mass from the rotors.

My fuel mileage is absolutely terrible now. Around town I use to get 250+ miles per tank before a fill up when I was NA.....now I'm lucky to get 170-200, and I'm not constantly in the boost either.

Bill from delicious is addressing this in his next tune update. Should be released this weekend or maybe next. I think after the update 33mpg was seen IIRC. I get around 28 in the cold on winter tires. Before winter I was getting 31mpg.

What would the ease of an intercooled version be to someone who knows there way around tools but not on car applications?
