Unhappy Trunk Advice

Looking for some opinions from everyone over a little situation I've found myself in.

Yesterday when getting in my car after work I found a meddlesome piece of hard plastic (probably 2 cm x 1 cm) lodged between my OEM spoiler and trunk I pried back the spoiler a tad and managed to get the piece out easily enough but the post-op condition was a little less favourable by comparison .

There's an approximately 2 cm x 2 cm scratch cluster where the plastic was assumedly vibrating against my hood for at least my commute to work (45m). The paint is completely gone and there's a pretty brutal dent.

Took it to a body shop this evening and they said to paint blend and get the dent out it'd run at least $400 all in.

On the bright side, they said it wasn't deep enough to worry about rust and its 99% covered by the spoiler.

Now, here's the catch. I had planned on putting a GT wing on my car within the next 2 months. This would expose the dent and be a huge eye sore.

As far as I'm concerned this leaves me with 3 options;

- hunt down another OEM trunk that's hopefully undamaged and swap it out, slap the wing on it

- repair the current one, slap the wing on it

- buy a carbon fiber trunk, wrap it WRB, slap the wing on it

The last one seems to be the least trouble over all and the safest in terms of longevity but it almost feels wrong to buy a carbon trunk just to wrap it ... (I don't like exposed carbon on anything other than wings aesthetically).

I guess I'm looking for opinions on what people think is the most reasonable approach.

[Pics to come for those interested]

If putting a GT wing on and removing the OEM spoiler are you not going to have holes and marks anyway? I would think a dent would be the least of your worries at that point.

Personally I would try to find stock trunk lid with no spoiler at an auto wrecker and then wrap (unless you luck out and find wrb) and mount the wing. If couldn't find a stock then I would go cf.

The vin sticker. Not a huge deal to almost anyone, but I like matching.

I re-thought this and might just go cf in this situation but do paintwork and not wrap. You could keep the stock trunk in tact and be less work for a body shop.

This is what I'm quickly learning towards despite the clear price disadvantage.

I don't have the foggiest idea so I was wondering if you had a guess +/- $100 what it would cost to get a bumper painted?

I thought Canada had the same USDM cars so they should have it. but it is a different country so there are probably different regulations regarding VIN placement

this is where my sticker sits:

Must be. I have never seen a vin on a trunk lid.

I would think so as well. Doesn't make sense to not have it just because it isn't a Canadian requirement. Usually things like that are actuall cheaper for them to just slap on all the cars.
