Welp, I made my weekly venture out into the wasteland to get provisions. I went to Walmart this time. Damn, THAT place was a zoo! Going in, there was NO hand sanitizer at the door to wipe off the shopping cart handles - so, I had to feel around till I found a cool one that wasn't sticky.

I noticed that about only 25% of the customers were wearing masks, and they were usually old people. Those old people can't hardly walk, they can't see worth a darn, they are half deaf, now, with a mask on, they can't be understood.

The unmasked 75% were the younger, bullet proof, macho types, that are usually ugly and should be happy to be able to cover up part of their ugly faces.

Why do they lock up razor blades? I had to find the correct type of blade (Fusion 2 or Fusion 3 or fusion 5) - or whatever. Then find a clerk to unlock the damn thing from the rack, then she had to find the clerk with the key, who was on break, but returned shortly. Then that clerk had to find a plastic lock box to put the razor blades in. THEN when I was going through checkout, the checkout girl didn't have the key to open the box and had to go track her down. No wonder people steal them - it would be soo much simpler -

Well, after an hour of gagging on my own foul breath with the mask on, I got out of there. NO, I didn't back into anybody in the parking lot - so - I reckon it was a good trip -

It looks like looting and general anarchy is the thing to do somewhere in the US.

I'm curious how looting and burning down shops is a righteous way to demonstrate againt police brutality.

I say shoot all looters, their not protesting anything, they are thieving scum that should be put down.

My faith in humanity has taken another blow.

Punish the guilty, protect the innocent.

Reminds me of a back-in-the-Army story. It was a dark, foggy Saturday night at Coleman Barracks in Germany. Lucky me had duty officer that night. One of the duties of the duty officer was to be at the EM (Enlisted Men) club at closing time, to insure that the soldiers disbursed and went back to their barracks.

Now, the majority of the patrons were soldiers of a certain "minority" group. When they were told to return to their barracks, some of them weren't quite ready to end the party. I found that it was best to greet them at the exit and keep them moving, because if you let them "bunch up" they got real brave.

On that Saturday night, my driver (Pvt Chandler) and I was at the exit. Now, a word about Chandler, he was a soft spoken, redneck from Georgia. All was going well until this one very drunk soldier and a few of his friends decided to challenge me. I asked them if they knew who I was and what I was doing there. The "leader" shouted out "ya, you're are Lt humfrz and I'm tired of being told what to do by you (insert a color) officers.

By this time, he had quite a large group behind him and the crowd was getting ugly. As I had my hand on my loaded .45 ACP, I told Chandler (who was armed with an M-14 rifle) that if that soldier took one more step towards us, he was to shoot him.

Chandler yanked up his M-14, let the bolt slam forward and loudly ask me "CAN I KILL HIM NOW, LT HUMFRZ, CAN I KILL HIM NOW".

SHIT! My heart almost stopped - and I said "not now, Chandler, one more step" The group got real wide eyed and they all backed up scurried off.

So, the next time I had duty officer, I took the duty NCO with me, to drive me over to the EM club.

THE END

I noticed denture stuff is locked up at my local Wal-Mart grocery. That and at the big Wal-Mart they have a small enclosed space for make-up, and you pay there. You can't take make-up out of the area. I was shopping with my wife once and she needed a 82¢ bottle of nail polish remover and they wouldn't let me take it out and pay for it at main checkout after more shopping.

I went to Oregon today to see my pharmacist. No one in masks.

I went to the local butcher. No masks.

I went to Albertsons, only employees had masks.

I guess mask wearin' is done here.
