This is trolling?

I'm just on a war against pedantry, I guess.

"That's not an assault rifle! It's single fire." "Yeah, but the vast majority of people call it an assault rifle, so the word sticks at least as well as your narrower usage."

"That's not a sports car. That's a GT!" "Yeah, well, the vast majority of people would call it a sports car, so the word sticks at least as well as your narrower usage."

I'm not putting that all on Tcoat. I'm just saying it's a classic now. It's like how anything that gets old enough becomes an archaeological artifact, even your discarded chicken bones.
Oh, I suppose old chicken bones could be considered "artifacts" if they were carved on by humans or used a fish hooks .... by humans. -

Having dug at an archaeological site, garbage are absolutely considered artifacts.

On an archaeological site in context with it's use by humans, yes.
A dead chick without context is just some bones.

By your use of the word they are classics.

I was strictly referring to cars. If a car gets old enough, it is considered a classic car. This is how society uses the word.

The Castro Valley landfill (dump) doesn't hardly qualify as an archaeological site.

How you view it. Glad you speak for all of society. They also use vintage but you don’t agree with that so it is wrong? Cars are also classed as antique.
The requirements for a car to be called classic are well laid out by most of the recognized groups. If a bunch of other people want to call them classics it doesn’t make them classics.

Actually, given a few thousand years it might. But I doubt it will ever be a classic.

I wonder what alien archeologists will think of our garbage dumps? Portland, too, speaking of garbage dumps.
