Looks like screws on the sides then lift the bezel off.

@Ghostmerlott it was a long decision making process!

I was going with the T09A http://www.tradesolution.hk/e/ptxweb...duct/1193.html until pointed out it has WIN CE and @2forme had problems with it. Also, it was too different from the TUN21A for his root file to work.

Changed to the T7019A http://www.tradesolution.hk/e/ptxweb...duct/1274.html as no WIN CE but then @2forme said the only one he could be sure his root file would work on was the TUN21A http://www.tradesolution.hk/e/ptxweb...duct/1265.html so I changed to that one.

The supplier then advised the T7019A had already been shipped but also advised the operating system was the same so the root files should still work.

So, it is the T7019A for me at this stage and I'll try rooting it.

I am a little concerned as I have asked for the date it was shipped and a tracking number and can't get a response.

Incidentally @krikke and @cmarks20 I got a reply from the supplier of the TD610A http://www.xtrons.com/GPS-car-dvd/6....er-TD610A.html when I asked if it would communicate via Bluetooth with the ELM327 or the OB-LINK or if they could supply it rooted. Their reply was... Drum roll....

"What do you mean of being rooted?"

I replied to them with a reference to this Wikipedia page! [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Android_rooting"]Android rooting - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

I had the T09A from Tradesolution. Nice as a radio but useless for Android. I regret not going for the T7019A.

Also, the xtrons one is probably resistive touch screen, where the TUN21A is capacitive.

BTW. I hope the T7019A really is resistive.

Actually, once I get one working, I wouldn't mind doing another one - or 20 lol.

How much did you actually end up paying for your unit?

Yup, so much for that company I still haven't got a response from them about the TD605G. If the internals are close to the TD610A or T7019A, I wouldn't be against trying to port Android to it - since we obviously wouldn't get any support from them. TD605G

I'm showing the capacitive as $445, plus another $65 in shipping - so $510. I might as well get the better looking one from eBay!

I wasn't happy with my T09A but the TS guys were always willing to help.

That was me. I returned it. Now I have one that IS capacitive (TUN21A).

Yea, I tried the T09A too, I was very unhappy with the CE/Android blend solution. They were very helpful and took the unit back even after use.

Awesome, I really should have done my homework before buying.
I saw both on the website but then saw Android 4.0 and got trigger happy.

That's why I went with it first too - android 4.0. But luckily just saw @2forme's post about WIN CE and problems with it so I changed my order.

So much to learn about this stuff. Good news is I have found out the husband of one of the woman tat I work with is an IT guy and has rooted lots of android stuff so he might be able to help me.
