I've triple checked all the connections to no avail. Has anyone else had issues with the phantom controller?

Just to verify as all the instructions didn't specifically say otherwise. There are two connections that go from the controller to the battery array.

~The way I have it configured is the main power (Large RED connection) for the supercharger is going to the main negative terminal of the array and the positive of the dump batteries.

~I then have the smaller Positive and Negative wires coming the controller going straight to the main terminals of the battery array.

Is this correct? and is there a fuse within the controller itself to allow it to not fry the internal parts with heat and overcharged batteries?

Thanks guys

Connections sound right. Did you check the fuse that goes to the voltage meter?

Yes I did. Looks good.

Another quick update on the way home it started working off and on for about 5min. Then about 5min later didn't work at all. So it's not completely dead maybe just overheated? Is there a fan or something on the controller to cool it down?

Yes there's a fan on the controller. Should be running when the car is on. Sounds like an intermittent connection.

Fan wasn't the problem I took off the filter and fan was running. However it didn't emit the beeps or show the voltage. I took the controller apart and cleaned the filter/fan out. Re-wired everything and so far today it's worked the entire time I've been driving cross your fingers

Still sounds like it should have a bit more resilience to cooling issues built in, or a bit better cooling built in out of the box.

I completely agree! I'm currently looking into solutions to wrap the radiator hoses to minimize the heat in the engine as the controller is right next to the top hoses. Kit works great when it's not getting too hot!! Hopefully I can find a permanent solution.

You're in Washington and have a heat problem?
I'm in Florida and have been running this thing everyday for years and have never had a heating problem.

Feelsbadman

Just this last week temps were over 100. But yeah something is probably wrong with the controller :/ no idea how hard it would be to get ahold of Rob to ask for a new one

I didn't even know it had a filter, and I think my fan is outside the control box, this one looks like it is on the inside. It's kind of hard to figure out from the picture, but it looks like one of those voltage regulators could be remote mounted on another side of the enclosure and another heat sink placed with it. With twice the surface area to radiate the heat, it might help it to stay cooler longer.

Yup. Actually my fan and filter are on the outside as well. I believe behind the heatsink is the voltage regulator so perhaps like you said, get a bigger heatsink. In the mean time I wrapped the radiator cable with a heat shield so hopefully that mitigates the ambient heat

Right now the biggest issue is my ability to talk with the procede controller. The procede I'm using is originally for the BMW and I'm using a USB to serial. No dice on getting it to talk to the software. Any thoughts?

Set the communication port correctly in the procede software.

Though I wouldn't recommend it if you have the good two stage foot switch.

Leedle. I got it working, I had to change the fuel tables only found that out from searching the forums. The amount of documentation on this is crazy low. Feels great. I didn't like the switch as it wouldn't consistently trigger the full boost. It drove me nuts
