While staging for a drag race or an autocross I have been known to forget to turn the TC off and this would be ideal for that.

That's why I did it... you look foolish that one time you forget to override TC.

Ok so I have been searching for a cleaner way to do this and get down to one relay device.

By god I think it has been found.

The TDR-M
http://www.wolstentech.com/products/...elay/tdr-m.php

I emailed them and gave them the wiring setup DarrenDriven did and a link to this thread.

Response:

I apologize for the slow response. I do believe one of our TDR-M relays would work fine in this application. The TDR-M is much like the DEI 528T; when triggered, it outputs a specific-length pulse, set by an adjustable dial. The TDR-M is a negative-switching relay; when activated, it internally connects its load output terminal 'L' to ground, which will work directly with your traction control switch, as it simply connects to ground to signal to the computer that it has been pressed. Also, the TDR-M can be triggered with a +12V or ground trigger signal, so no additional relays are needed. To connect the TDR-M in this application, I recommend the following connections:

terminal connects to
+12 ignition-switched +12V source (red/blu wire in your diagram)
G ground (blk/ylw wire in your diagram)
L trac switch (green wire in your diagram)
1 hidden toggle switch (other side connected to ground, SPST-type switch)
2 unused

The TDR-M can be ordered here
:
http://www.wolstentech.com/products/...elay/tdr-m.php

I then asked for clarfication:
Thank you for the response. So what you are saying is the Bosch style relay would not be needed and this could be set to trigger upon start up via the 12v ignition.

Response:
Yes, exactly. When the switch is set, every time the ignition is turned on, it'll simulate pressing the trac button. You'll probably want to set a turn-on delay, however, to get past the engine-cranking time. You can set the turn-on delay to 10-20 seconds with the "I" knob, and then the turn-off delay (how long the button is pressed) to perhaps 1 second with the "O" knob.

I have ordered one and am going to give it a go.

So... could 2 of these be used to simulate the pedal dance?

From how I saw it yes it potentially could.

I just want it to turn the button off every time the car is started.

Wouldn't it be easier to just put a switch inline with the steering wheel clock spring? If that is disconnected everything is disabled.

Going to have to explain that one further.

When you remove the stock steering wheel all nannies are turned off. The clock spring theoretically should be what tells the ecu if the steering wheel is connected.

Cool, let us know how it goes... I don't actually think a single person has duplicated my circuit... at least not that I have heard.

I was going to but I just wanted a cleaner way of doing it. I am in no means knocking what you did. In fact what you did helped me start digging for other switches.

I have a SettingSaver on my STI that I got way back when they were 1st made it is super clean and works flawless. It would auto switch the SI drive to S#, turn off the TC and set the DCCD where you wanted it when you started the car.

Yeah I had contacted the guy that made them trying to get him to do a BRZ/FRS one and had no luck.

So I got it installed today. My install followed the op's to a degree but instead I did not use a switch so I can turn it on and off, nor did I go far for power.

I 1st tapped the 12v off the 12v power in the center console using the white wire off of it. I did add a 7.5 amp fuse to be safe but not sure it is really needed.

Then I setup the ground using the rear bolt on the ebrake handle mount (12mm) and a ring terminal.

The two final connections done to the traction control switch should be soldered as the green wire is a very thin gauge. I honestly skipped stripping them to avoid wire damage and just melted small sections of the insulation to attach the wires. I would suggest being very careful soldering in the car and make sure you have something to protect the interior from solder splatter. Using good 3m electrical tape I insulated the wiring I soldered. Once they were in place I gave it a test run before putting it all back together.

I did rotate the timer pots to adjust initial on and the timer for shutoff but other than that this one unit worked as advertised. I put it all back together an went for a drive enjoying the fact that I never need to remember to turn off my nanny in this car again. However you can turn her on if you need her just press the switch.

terminal connects to

+12 ignition-switched +12V source (white wire from 12v power outlet in the center console)
G ground (blk/ylw wire)
L trac switch (green wire)
1 Ring terminal to ebrake mount bolt (other side connected to ground or a SPST-type switch if you want to turn it on or off)
2 unused

I did also try to use matching wire colors, worked good on all except the power.
