slow start
sorry if this is in the wrong section im kind of new here.
I was wondering if anyone has had the issue with there frs having a slow start up or if anyone knows what is causing it. its not a consistent issue and its only happened twice in the 5 months that i have owned this car. im at just over 6000 miles and haven't done the first oil change (toyota said 7500 or 7 months and i havnt had the time to do it myself) It wasnt that cold out only about 60 degrees could it be the oil or dirty air filter? p.s. its my day to day car i drive it about 40 miles a day when i work 5-6 days week |

Slow start up, can you describe it?
What type of gas have you been using?

Slow start meaning the engine is having a hard time kick over to start?

I've noticed that the starter has to work a little extra when I crank the car sometimes. I thought it was because of cold weather too since the temp where I live stays around the single digits this time of year.
I'm speaking out of my butt here, but maybe it has something to do with that fancy new D4-S fuel injection system??? One of the things it supposedly helps is startup emissions. |

It's a common issue, not just you. When you first turn the key, before turning to ignition, wait about a second of two for things to sort themselves out, then start the car.
Try not to be in such a hurry, your car will thank you. |

Yeah, normally cars shouldn't have this problem, and I think ignition priming time is .010 of a second or something, but I always take my time. I've read up on this issue and it is common for our car, so rest easy.
