They do this because they don't have the capital of Google. They can only make so many in batches because they are limited by a balance sheet. And a Nexus 5 would be destroyed by this phone in terms of battery life. It's in the top 4 of all android phone battery tests.

Couple of my friends have these and they love them, no reported problems either.

WAY too big for me though, my 4.7inch iphone is already too big to fit comfortably in my pockets.

This post makes me feel bad... I previously bought 3 Oneplus Ones, (me and family members) and they give you 3 invites per purchase so at one point I had more invites than I knew what to do with and I had no idea when they would send the invites so...well they expired... If you guys are still looking to try and buy one, invites on the forum are pretty easy to snag if you have the patience to wait for them to pop up but you have to be fast. Also sometimes they have special flash sales (or Black Friday, Christmas time) when you don't need an invite to get one. If you follow their Facebook page you can get news to when those are.
