If I don't it's because I missed something in the parts list and I don't have unlimited time to take care of it.
Except when it's a heat shield on the matrix. Those are held on by coat hangers and some rope where it's not too close to the exhaust. |

If you're really careful scraping off the sealant, you can reuse it.

Nah, it's like fruitcake, the existing ones just get passed around.

Are you trying to tell us that we need new nuts?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. If it's a stretch bolt situation I will and crush washers always get replaced but many other applications a bit of loctite is an appropriate solution. I've been rolling with this MO for a few decades now and haven't had anything (terribly) important fall off my vehicles. |

Typically I use new fasteners when I've lost the originals
Or, I replace them with cable ties, or ducr tape If, by chance, I have not lost said fasteners, I do use one of the 3 variants of locktite I have on the shelf And always with the help of my trusty torque wrenches, both of which, have never actually been properly calibrated, apart from my firm belief in hopes and dreams Unless head bolts, I always play the new game with head bolts, typically, disclaimer: above mentioned, uncalibrated torque wrenches are used with head bolts, just like every other fasteners that I can find a value or procedure for My cars and bikes are typically held together with hopes and dreams typically
